Re: Step by step LetsEncrypt WinSimple
Thank you very much, so I finally got this done with some hesitation but I have to say v2.1.7 of Win Amce is so much more powerful and friendly than v1.9, it was actually a breeze to set it up. For the benefit of folks who want to use IIS/FTP and hMailServer together here are a few tips and the step...

Re: Step by step LetsEncrypt WinSimple
Thanks, I've been pouring over your guide, very helpful. I guess I' will need to pick PEM and then IIS store as the second option. The part where I'm stuck is, do I need to revoke/cancel the existing renewal task or can I change the settings of the existing task (if so from where?) or should I selec...

Re: Step by step LetsEncrypt WinSimple
Thanks. From what I read, if I use a certificate store then IIS will stop working. I'm using using IIS and hMailServer on the same machine with the same domain. Any pointers on how I can use both with win acme without breaking each other.

Re: Letsencrypt - Now Wildcard Ready!
Does do you hMailServer to bind to the SSL certificate generated by Win Acme V2? It seems to generate a new certificate filename each time it renews the domain.

Re: Step by step LetsEncrypt WinSimple
After upgrading to acme v2, I've noticed that when the certificate is renews, win-acme now generates a new filename for each site renewal and it's some random GUID. That is creating an issue with hmailserver since you can only configure a static filename. Does anyone know how to get around this prob...

Re: hMailServer hangs on restarting via a script to reload certificate
Yes that’s what works (see my earlier posts). Net stop throws an error but eventually returns and then net start works.

Re: HOW TO: Ready-To-Go Backup and Cleardown script
Interesting read but I’m wondering if beating the server back into submission has any side effects on data quality or stability.
The question is why does the API to stop hang in the first place?

Re: hMailServer hangs on restarting via a script to reload certificate
So true to Windows, I did a reboot and for now the batch file seems to be working fine. However the script above is definitely creating an issue and still causing a hang (which then hangs the batch file also). I don't know what's with the script/API but it isn't happy about something which then mess...

Thanks. I checked and it doesn’t apply here since we are using 2012 R2. Any other thoughts ?

Re: hMailServer hangs on restarting via a script to reload certificate
I checked and there are no SYNC_RCVD connections on hMailServer when this happens. Just one UDP port on hMailServer that’s it.

Re: Step by step LetsEncrypt WinSimple
Thanks for that, it is really helpful. Only one Question: I don't like the idea to save a script including the admin password in plain text - why not having a batch file containing @ECHO OFF NET STOP hMailServer NET START hMailServer The scheduled task itself runs with the highest privileges, so th...

Re: hMailServer hangs on restarting via a script to reload certificate
The script was taken from this topic: https://www.hmailserver.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=32593 I even tried switching to a bat file to use the net stop service command this is what I get: C:\Windows\system32>NET STOP hMailServer The service is not responding to the control function. More help is avai...

hMailServer hangs on restarting via a script to reload certificate
I'm using LetsEncrypt to review my certificates which are used by the website server and also by hMailServer. I read on the forum that hMailServer needs to be restarted to reload the new certificates and the best way to do it so to run the following scripts in the task scheduler when letsencrypt is ...

Re: hMailServer hangs after about an hour
Apologies, please ignore my earlier posts, they aren't relevant, I found out why my hMailServer is stopping and will create a separate topic for it. (it to do a a VB script that started hanging recently). You information was very helpful anyways for future reference.

Re: hMailServer hangs after about an hour
Check for this https://www.hmailserver.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=33965 I take that back, I had enabled the firewall after reading your post which was blocking the ports to hMailServer. After creating an exception, I see a TON of SYN_RCVD but they are on port 25. Can I disable port 25? I'm only ...

Re: hMailServer hangs after about an hour
Check for this https://www.hmailserver.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=33965 Thank you very much, I don't see a lot of SYN_RCVD under hMailServer but I see see it under svchost.exe and on port 21 and instead of 587. I'll keep and on eye the next time it hangs. The symptoms are EXACTLY like you said, ...

Re: hMailServer hangs after about an hour
Did anyone ever figure this out? I seem to be having a similar issue. My hMailServer on a windows server just seems to hang. It funny because the status page says "Stopping" for some reason. I don't know why it change from running to stopping. The action button is disabled, until I manually restart ...

Re: Ability to sign with DKIM domain aliases too
Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but with a relaxed implementation it should be acceptable to use the same DKIM signature for different domains from what I've understood about it and with the appropriate DMARC setup it should still work, it may not be "aligned" but it'll be accepted. Is that co...

Re: Ability to sign with DKIM domain aliases too
I don't think you need separate signature. When Google mail does DKIM signing on behalf of other domains it uses it's own key.

Re: DKIM not signing domain alias senders
But isn't DKIM domain dependent, won't you need a separate certificate for each domain name? I believe it is allowed to have it sign multiple domains with a single key. There are two types of DKIM alignments, relaxed and strict. So yes it would be okay to use the same key for all domains in a relax...

A little cross posting here. If you're interested in this feature to allow DKIM signature for alias domains please vote here

Re: DKIM not signing domain alias senders
I too would like to vote for this feature. It's quite challenging that I have two domains being hosted by a single hMailServer instance but only one is getting a DKIM signature. I'm guessing the question is: Would you like hMailServer to DKIM sign alias domains? [poll] - Yes - No [/poll] EDIT: Hmm, ...
