your friends don't get emails from facebook unless you explicity type in their address and/or upload your address book for facebook to invite them. i've not done either of these things so facebook hasn't "spammed" my friends - surely it's not spamming them if you entered the addresses to invite them...

Rollernet.us as secondary mx
I stumbled across http://rollernet.us/ as a free secondary mx service today.
Just wondering if anyone's using / used it and if so, is it reliable?

However a lot of web sites with forms that you fill in and then click a button to e-mail only run a dumb script and do not retry so the e-mail is lost. How much of an issue has this been? Presumably you can get round this problem by clicking the button on the website again? (obviously undesirable t...

From what i have read, SP2 just added to the limits by limiting outbound as well as inbound: "Similar to the inbound connection limit Microsoft imposed on Windows 2000 Professional and Windows XP (where these platforms are limited to 10 simultaneous inbound connections), Windows XP SP2 now limits ou...

I'm using apache and have noticed the constraint in my application log (i'm using xp pro). From my understanding, it's the number of tcp/ip connections regardless of what port they come in on? A consideration for business users: I *think* that the patches available to get round this limit break the ...

there is no "cleanup" option. you need to set the following: uncheck "use subject as filename" set the max files option (which you've already done) remove the 85000 you've already got (however, i'd be slightly cautious with this as my ASSP recently seem to forget all the spam training it'd had.. and...

I think that rather than spending time on developing a new webmail client, it would make more sense to compile a very detailed (but idiot proof) step-by-step guide to setting up Squirrelmail (and php?) on Apache or IIS. I've personally set up hMailServer with Squirrelmail on Apache on two separate s...

thanks for that matty.. may be the answer i was looking for... please can someone confirm that this will work: for mydomain.com, add a route with my ISPs SMTP server specified, add distributionlistname@mydomain.com in the addresses tab. What I expect that to do is send mail to everyone on the distri...

Send all mail from a certain user through SMTP relayer?
Is it possible through scripting to send all mail from a particular user through the SMTP relay? The reason I want to do this is: So far I have discovered two domains that reject mail from my server (not sure why - they don't give me detailed info, just that it was rejected. I assume this is due to ...

Tarpitting - a couple of questions
I've had a look for some info regarding tarpitting in hMailServer but haven't been able to find much. [using 3.4.1 b86] I think I understand what it is for / how to use it, but would like clarification. My understanding is that tarpitting causes a small delay inbetween messages when sending a large ...

i'm not sure that this will be of use, but http://www.jmu.edu/computing/ittraining ... upxp.shtml has a section on subscribing to IMAP folders about 3/4 down the page (after step 17)
maybe you need to tell Outlook to subscribe to Inbox.Sent ?

i've had this problem too and the error in the logfile is (from memory) "could not connect to mysql db" - it only happens occasionally so is probably a case of the mail service trying to start before the db service.. so what martin said about the hMailServer service being dependent on the DB service...
