This forum should be DISABLED
Based on the current state of the server: https://www.hmailserver.com/state there's no future for the server. Having this forum "Feature Requests" enabled, gives the users false hope of reality. I still have a lot of tools and programs on my Windows since 1995 and they all work fine, including devel...

Moving messages to another account/folder
First of all, sorry if the question has been answered before, the forum search doesn't work reliably. Is it possible to move existing message files to another account? I'm not planning on doing it often, just once or twice during a one time maintenance. I don't mind shutting down the mail server for...

Re: How to migrate data from SQL Server to MySQL
OMG, I completely forgot about the internal backup feature.
So, I should just point to the new, blank MySQL database and the backup will take care of everything?
Even though, the backup was made from MS SQL?

How to migrate data from SQL Server to MySQL
I've been using hMail for several years under Ms SQL Server. Now I need to move it to another server: a different OS (Win 2016), a different network, different physical location and most importantly a different database. The most obvious solution would be to use a Data Migration Wizard by MySQL Work...

The Bat! client on Expired Certificate
Does anyone familiar with a mail client called "The Bat!" ? It's a pretty good application by [link removed] , but it gives me a problem: It says that one of my certificates is expired. Question: Is it the certificate on my client computer or on the mail server OS? 1.jpg The problem is that the cert...

Re: Unable to receive email from some servers to some domains
I have full control over DNS servers and testing subdomain is an excellent advice for test. I will definitely try that.mikedibella wrote: ↑2022-02-23 04:34If you can't change the domain's nameservers, maybe propose a test where a subdomain is delegated to another DNS infrastructure and see if mail can be received for the subdomain.

Unable to receive email from some servers to some domains
My hMail v.5.6.7-B2425 is handling 26 domains. Most of them don't have this problem, but at least 1 domain name is unable to receive messages addressed to any accounts from several large companies. One source in particular that I'm testing is Yahoo. The strange thing is that there's absolutely no re...

Thank you Dravion for replying and thank you RvdH for explaining.
The words behind those tags were obviously not the part of IMAP commands and being present in the line where only commands should of been, made me paranoid. Now it makes sense. Thanks.

Have I found a BACKDOOR to the server?
What the hell is "kman" prefix? I just analyzed my logs and I can see them everywhere. Typically word "kman" has an index number that starts with 1 and goes sequentially up. Look at kman4 and kman13, 14, 15, etc. A lot of activity with that strange word. Anyone knows what that is? Thanks. Here are ...

Re: Potential Security Threat - Unique Names in IP Ranges
hMailServer will NEVER overwrite an IP Range. It will append (1), (2)... etc. to the name. Excellent! I didn't know that because I've never seen (x) as part if the names, even though I've seen some brutal attacks. I was testing it by adding IP Range manually when I noticed that adding a new range w...

Re: Potential Security Threat - Unique Names in IP Ranges
Set the default BAN to 12 months, problem solved! The problem I noticed is NOT the expiration. It was the fact that the name gets overwritten with another attempt to login with the same name, but from another IP address. This overwriting is forcing the previous record to expire immediately. Am I wr...

Potential Security Threat - Unique Names in IP Ranges
Why the IP Ranges Names are suppose to be unique? I didn't realized it until I tried to update the database directly and found out that the Name field "RangeName" in the table "hm_securityranges" must be unique. Here's a hypothetical scenario: A hacker tries to guess password for one particular acco...

Since DKIM keys are not associated with the spelling of the domain name, in case when several domain names owned by the same company/owner - are there any negative consequences on using the same private/public keys for DKIM?

Matt, I think you're on to something. I have 2 network cards on the server. One is for local network 192.168.x.x and another is for public IP address, connected directly via HSPA switch.
