hMaiServers Database Setup Functions setting
anything to UTF-8, a least for hMailServer 5.x series.

However:
First hMailServer was in 2003 and the older Releases
did not enforce UTF-8. You should upgrade in small steps as described, not as a giant leap.

On the same Machine, its not blocked by Windows Firewall.

I guess you didn't enabled TCP/IP Connection
in the MS-SQL Server Configuration Assistant.

8000x is a permission access Error.

I think you need to enable the DCOM-Settings of this hMailServer x64 version using the Windows DCOM Settings tool
In Windows Start menue, click run and type the command dcomcnfg + ENTER and look up hMailServer, enable DCOM Remote access on it and try again.

So, for clarity: I have a Samsung win7 Home - preinstalled with a windows key sticker on the underside of the device (no Win7 install disk, just a restore partition on disk). Are you saying that if I download from that liknk I will be able to install over the win7 (thus upgrading it) to win 10? And...
