Re: Auto-reply script quoting original subject and text

I know I am about 3 years too late for this thread, but I have just used the code above in something today - and very successfully, thanks! I also did a bit of digging with regard to the apparent confusion between From and FromAddress, and found this: https://www.hmailserver.com/forum/viewtopic.php?...

Re: Catch-all seems to have turned my server into an open relay!

Hello,

Thank you for the references. I'm not sure how those scripts would prevent what happened on my server, but I may well make use of them at some point anyway to control certain emailers on my system!

Thank you to everyone who has read and commented here.

Wishing you all the best.

Re: Catch-all seems to have turned my server into an open relay!

Hi, Thanks for your time on this. The original incoming message (to the distribution list address) was scanned for both virus and spam, and was given a score by SpamAssassin of 2. This is presumably because most technical things looked legitimate - it was from a real person's email account that is s...

Re: Catch-all seems to have turned my server into an open relay!

Thanks for the replies. I think the distribution lists have been set up legitimately from the information the client has given me. It appears that they have created them and just left them set to "Public - anyone can send to this list", not understanding the implications this may have. Then someone ...

Re: Catch-all seems to have turned my server into an open relay!

Hi, Thanks for your reply :) I did suspect that it was an impossibility for what I thought was happening to have happened, and sure enough the explanation seems far simpler than suspected. There appear to be distribution lists for the domain in question, which the client may or may not have set up. ...

Catch-all seems to have turned my server into an open relay!

Hi all, I am using the latest build of hMailServer 5.6.4 (Build 2283). I have just seen an email which came in about 3 hours ago, which looks like a spammy email sent by someone's machine that is under attack. Nothing I need to be concerned about directly, however the email was sent to many multiple...

Re: sa-learn with spamassassin?

Martin, I think what you're proposing is a great idea. I used to use Roundcube and used to use the plugin discussed above with it. It worked very well, but I now use RainLoop as my main webmail client, which doesn't have an equivalent Spam/Ham plugin that will trigger SpamAssassin to learn when an e...

Re: LATEST EXPERIMENTAL BUILD - 5.4-B2014050401

Hi, I saw in another thread a post about keeping an eye on experimental builds as you were planning on adding new event calls, and I wondered if you were planning on adding one for when a message is moved from one folder to another, along the lines of onFolderMove, or something similar? This would b...
