Re: DKIM: Fails at Gmail but passes everywhere else

I just tried it again, sending to Gmail since when I first reported this problem it was back in March.

And now it's working! The DKIM is passing at Gmail.

So I guess somebody fixed something somewhere. I'll post back if the problem re-appears.

Re: DKIM: Fails at Gmail but passes everywhere else

Yeah it's weird! I don't know how to begin diagnosing it, since my DKIM works everywhere else, just not Gmail. Getting the 10/10 at mail-tester too. Also, as noted above, my same DKIM does work fine at Gmail when I send using Postfix. Only when sending from hMailServer and specifically to Gmail does...

DKIM: Fails at Gmail but passes everywhere else

This is kind of strange: When sending to Gmail addresses (only), the received message shows "dkim=fail" on all messages from hMailServer. The headers at the receiving end show these details: Authentication-Results: mx.google.com; spf=pass (google.com: domain of notify@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx.com designates 2...

Re: Time-Out When Stopping HMS Service

Hey- we put on B1946, and it looks like the problem's solved!

I press the Pause button, and it pauses well & doesn't hang.

Ok, so this is great. Much better for system administration and server reboots etc. Thanks guys for taking a look at this.

Re: Time-Out When Stopping HMS Service

Thanks, Bill that's great to hear. I'll be able to try that within the next week or so, and we'll see if this addresses the hangs we've been seeing.

Re: Cannot use IMAP on iPod

Ah, yes that's kind of normal with iPhones and iPads. The behavior is that it appears to "hang", because during configuration it goes through every combination of port numbers and security settings to see which protocols are supported. It takes many many minutes. But if you just let it sit there for...

Re: Reverse DNS does not match SMTP Banner

Remote server replied: 550 DY-001 (COL0-MC2-F41) Unfortunately, messages from 92.53.31.22 weren't sent. Please contact your Internet service provider. You can tell them that Hotmail does not relay dynamically-assigned IP ranges. From what I can tell, you're still going to have problems getting your...

Re: Reverse DNS does not match SMTP Banner

Ah, ok I've got it. Your IP address is on Spamhaus's PBL policy block list. http://www.spamhaus.org/query/ip/92.53.31.22 First, you'll need to ensure that your IP address is static and will remain the same. Then, you'll need to have your ISP remove that IP address from the Spamhaus PBL, or request r...

Re: IPhone support and latest ......

Oh, heck yeah version 5.4 works with every standard smartphone we've seen! Works great. Over here we've got employees with iPhones, Androids, Windows Phones etc. and they are all working just fine through hMailServer. We've got them all sending with SMTP and receiving with IMAP. One employee was hav...

Re: lost emails

I've seen those before... it typically is an outgoing message that was undeliverable, and whose sender doesn't exist on the local system (thus there was no mailbox to bounce it back to). So the message file gets deposited in the top-level folder for the domain name. The message is in limbo because i...

Re: Time-Out When Stopping HMS Service

I think I have found an interim workaround that helps us shut down the hMailServer service gracefully, even when those IMAP IDLE connections are present. I tried this tonight when we were shutting down the server for backup, and it worked well. The steps are: (1) Disable IMAP ports in Windows Firewa...

Re: Time-Out When Stopping HMS Service

Hi guys- just wanted to let you know this is happening on newer OS versions too. We get the exact same behavior running on Windows Server 2008, at two installations. Hitting the Pause button causes hMailServer Administrator to hang, and it appears to occur when there are open IMAP connections. We've...

Re: HMAIL server chaos / data loss after Windows Update / Re

Wow. Totally crazy. I did several Windows updates myself last night (the urgent ones that were released by Microsoft yesterday), and then rebooted. Didn't encounter the problems you described, but it is curious. Tell me- what database are you using? And also- you mentioned that some items you added ...

Re: authentication - smtp routes

That's how we've got it set here too. It should be safe to do external-to-external with no SMTP auth under the "My Computer" range. Some exceptions might be: (a) if the server is shared among other people, and those users could abuse the outbound mail service; or (b) if the server is later hacked or...

Re: hMailServer is bouncing spam rather than silently deleti

Ah. Oops, sorry about that! I think I was under the impression that it wasn't sending bounce errors for other types of spam detection (such as Spamhaus ZEN) because those rejects don't show up in the awstats log file. And the SURBL rejects do show up in that file. Not sure why that is the case, but ...

hMailServer is bouncing spam rather than silently deleting

Hello- I guess this might be a bug report, but I thought I'd bring it up in the forum first. I have my Delete Threshold set to 20, and an incoming message whose total spam score is 21. So it should just be silently deleting the e-mail. But instead it is bouncing back an error message, with an error ...

Re: Is hMailServer SURBL safe to use with dbl.spamhaus.org?

I just tried the experiment suggested by ^DooM^ . I sent myself a message containing an IP-based link, and hMailServer did look up the IP address on SURBL (which is correct for SURBL but not for Spamhaus DBL). So, to answer the original question: no, hMailServer is not 100% safe to use with Spamhaus...
