Re: Code: HM5033, Source: DALRecordset::Open, Description: MySQL: Query execution was interrupted

Whew! That was 2.5 years ago (5.4-B2011120101). I would think I would have if prompted. I wonder if the dependency was lost if I later re-installed/upgraded MySQL?

Re: Code: HM5033, Source: DALRecordset::Open, Description: MySQL: Query execution was interrupted

But Master Yoda, the dependency wasn't set in my installation, though my MySQL service name is "MySQL55". Could this have caused me to have the same HM5033 error messages occasionally ~3:20AM on Wednesdays when my server is automatically applying Windows Updates and restarting?

Can HMS send me an email when an error message is generated?

Can I set up HMS to send me email when it creates one of its ERROR_hmailserver_[date].log files or entries? I didn't see anything about it in the options or forum messages.

Re: Code: HM5033, Source: DALRecordset::Open, Description: MySQL: Query execution was interrupted

I'm guessing that if you look under Services you'll find that HMS doesn't have a dependency on the MySQL service.

The right way to automatically stop HMS during Windows Update?

Hello, We're happy long-time users of HMS. Recently when tracking down seemingly random email message loss, I discovered the losses (1-2 messages every 2 months or so) occurred during 3am, right when the system is restarting because of automatic Windows Update. HMS generates the error log entries be...

Re: 5.4 Backup feature

I'm afraid I'm making a hash of the description. Let me describe it chronologically: Feb-2012 -------------- I have a HMS installation running 5.3.3. I need to convert it from MSSQL CE to MySQL. Bill helpfully offers a 2011120101 experimental build which will support full export and import with a ne...

Re: 5.4 Backup feature

I think it worked because I exported the MySQL db from the old server and imported it into MySQL on the new server . The hms folders were just copied over from the old server. When the hms install was originally created on the old server I ran the first 5.4 installer--that's when the 5.3.3 to 5.4 co...

Re: 5.4 Backup feature

WOW 3GB database? :o How is that even possible? You sure you didn't mean 3GB of EMAIL FILES? Bill Whups! Yes, it was 3GB of mail files!! When I set up the new server this weekend, I copied over the old server's hmailserver folder, installed 5.3.3. and immediately copied the 2011120101 experimental ...

Re: 5.4 Backup feature

Thanks, Bill. So, back when I installed the 20111201 experimental in Feb. 2012 I should have installed the experimental files over hMailServer-5.4-B1931.exe , not over hMailServer-5.3.3-B1879.exe . Is that correct? At the time (Feb. 2012) I had a 3GB database running in 5.3.3, and needed to convert ...

Re: 5.4 Backup feature

Bill, I know this is a crazy question, but back when you posted this helpful link for hmailbin-5.4-B2011120101.7z, was it supposed to be applied to an installation of hMailServer-5.3.3-B1879.exe or hmailserver-5.4-b1931.exe? I've just rebuilt our server and couldn't remember which installation was t...

Re: Reply rule failing to send message, Code: HM5007

a) catch-all? No, but I just set it up and had it forward to a non-mydomain address. It works and takes care of the in-mydomain Reply messages!

b) route? No. I don't understand how those work.... What would that do for my setup?

Thanks!

Re: Reply rule failing to send message, Code: HM5007

In my situation, I have a global Reply rule which sends a reply message. The HMS installation does NOT receive email for all email addresses in our domain. It only s...

Update: After further testing, it turns out that #2 and #3 were not necessary. so, only the following was needed: 1. When testing the Reply rule, I was using an email address from the domain handled by HMS. My test machine, however, was checking this account directly from the POP server at the ISP. ...

Reply rule failing to send message, Code: HM5007

Hello-- Has anyone else been able to get Reply actions to work in a Rule? I have a global rule which triggers a Reply action. By watching the logs and the Data folder, I can verify that HMS (5.4-B2011120101) is creating the reply message. SMTP appears to be properly configured because a Forward rule...

Re: 5.4 Backup feature

I can do the test, but unfortunately I need a solution that will work for 5.3 (unless 5.4 can be deemed stable and advisable for production environments). Any chance of folding this in to a 5.3 variant?

I'll do the 5.4 test and let you know how it goes!

Are the backups created with the new experimental facility in 5.4 something that can be restored to a 5.3 installation? The bigger backup and restore feature would be a BIG help. One thing I'm also going to try--one of the clients has client-based spam filtering: Norton Anti-Spam and Cloudmark. That might be a factor. I will test and report back.

Does the message ever herald a problem (e.g. the wrong message gets deleted), or is it just an irritant?

Preferred solution for shared folders and multiple users?

Hello! I've searched and read everything I could find in the forums about this and wonder what the "recommended" solution is under hMailServer 5.3.3 for this situation. I have a customer support email address (on a POP3 server) that I download to HMS into a single Inbox (with shared sub-folders). Mu...
