In your TCPIP Settings, you should not have changed Port 25 to Port 587. Instead you should have kept Port 25 and added Port 587. So, now you need to add back Port 25.

Ports 25 and 587 also need your Firewall to be open.

It doesn't matter what you think of as the 'Parent Domain'. You need an SPF or DKIM Record or both for every Domain that is sent using hMailServer as the Sending Email Server.
