Stefsegers, I had a problem like yours. I had a very big number of false positives. After some tests, I understood that the spam folder must be almost emptied and left only a small sample of spam mesages. For example, I actually have some 13000 not spam mails (I didn't delete anyone) and only 400 sp...

As I know, isn't possible directly with Hmailserver. Perhaps with a script maybe it's possible. But, perhaps simplier, you can install and setup ASSP to block every type of attachment you want. In fact, in my server I'm blocking every classic virus transporters like cmd, bat, com, src, exe and pif. ...

It's really beautiful... so much nicer than Squirrelmail, and I love the frameless structure but I couldn't got working. First I tried with Mysql 4 and couldn't create the database. After I downgraded to Mysql 3 and could create the database (that's better than nothing :P) but didn't work with IIS 6...

Hi everyone. I'm just using ASSP. It's a great piece of software but has some "problems" due to its own working and security philosophy. It's a proxy, so overrides Hmailserver relaying options beacuse ASSP becames the Internet mail listener, instead of Hmailserver. Hmailserver doesn't listen directl...

Well, my personal experience wasn´t good with DNS blocking. I tried Spamhaus and really stopped many spam messages but it gave me too many false positives too. For example, it was blocking all wanadoo.es mails, one of the largest internet providers in Spain and Europe. I searched in Spamhaus databas...

Does ASSP overrides Hmail relaying options?

Hi everybody! After a few months, I'm back to the forum. I was searching in previous threads something about my question but didn't find anything. I recently installed ASSP in my production server and everything gone fine except now I can't send emails to external accounts without activating SMTP au...

Clamwin and ClamAV are based on the same engine and in theory, the command line antivirus must be more or less equal but I don't know why, I've got a much better performance with ClamAV. The main advantage of ClamWin is that there is nothing to configure in order to work with hmail. Just install and...

In adiction to have a strong password in database, I sugest that database engine must be hidden behind a firewall. In my case, because MS ISA Server is very expensive, I use Windows TCP built-in filter, that is very effective. Must have in account that my servers use a direct Internet Connection. If...

helo command rejected in Lycos Mail

Hello everyone. Some days ago I was doing some tests and tried to send an email to a Lycos account and the message was refused, sending me this response: Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients. No, of course hmail will not crash with ClamWin  It's very stable. The only thing is that some moments at day, the server didn't response to mail client requests but trying one second after, keeped "alive" again. ALL mail were delivered and received correctly without ANY message loose. Speaking...

Sorry, I forgot to say the messages volume. The 170 accounts server (one domain) is managing thousands of emails per day (don't know exactly how many, I'll take a look to log files some day) and is deleting between 300-500 virus messages per day. UFFFF!!!! It was hard but I think that I just have the origin of the problem and (guess) fixed 8) It was the configuration file of clam daemon. How can ClamAV daemon be installed as a NT service?

Hi, folks. In an earlier topic, I read that someone was using the Clam Antivirus SOSDG build as a daemon. Is it possible to configure a file type filter in hmailserver antivirus? I'm not speaking about clamwin config, but hmailserver config.
