Re: Data directory changed after reboot, no reason?

The move happened last week, I moved from an x86 box to an x64 box, so the install path changed. I decided them to move the datastore out of the Program Files directory and updated the .INI and the database to point to the moved mail.. Unfortunately, no logging was on, as it was running fine for a w...

Re: SSL help #2 - unable to verify the first certificate

That's a really useful document for self-signed certs. Thanks for posting.

In my case, I was using a purchased SSL cert. As it turns out the only application that complained about it was the iPhone, and luckily it only asks once time if you're ok with it and remembers it for all eternity.

SSL help #2 - unable to verify the first certificate

Anyone know how to resolve this? I was getting "invalid certificate" notices on an iPhone, and connecting to the server with SSL I get the following messages (this is a godaddy turbo ssl certificate): openssl s_client -connect mail.minimalist.com:995 CONNECTED(00000003) depth=0 /O=mail.minimalist.co...

Re: SSL Help - use existing IIS certificate in hMailServer?

I solved this, and I'm posting it in case anyone else needs the information. 1. Export the IIS certificate using the MMC snap-in. There is lots of documentation out there for this. Be sure to include the private key. Do NOT tell it to remove the private key if you intend to keep using the certificat...

SSL Help - use existing IIS certificate in hMailServer?

Hi. I have an SSL cert that I own for the mail server. However it is an IIS certificate, since people pick up their webmail through it. Is it possible to somehow export the information form IIS and use this SSL cert in hMailServer? I've tried using the .crt file that GoDaddy originally sent me, that...

Re: hMailServer 5.0, build 307 (Alpha)

Thanks again Martin. You pretty much always rock. I've had minimal problems ever, and I've always reported bugs. The only problem I think I ever had was a thing where the installer wasn't working properly with Sql Server 2005 like 2 years ago, and you patched that up in like 30 minutes. Because you ...

Re: hMailServer 5.0, build 307 (Alpha)

I have a really quick question, apologies if it's been asked before, I don't see it. Is it an "easy" upgrade from the latest V4? As in, can I run the installer and will it upgrade easily? Also, will the newer installers continue to update the database etc as needed if one installs this alpha, or no?...

It would be really handy when troubleshooting on a loaded up server to have on the undelivered messages tab where it shows you the queue, whenever you view/refresh display a line of text below the box that shows the messages that says:

Number of messages in queue: 5,402

Yes, hMailServer is there, Local Service, System account. Looks right.

It's working now, right?

Maybe the upgrade from XP to Vista caused some weird stuff. I should have _saved_ those registry keys for you, but I wasn't thinking.

No biggie. So you see the problem? I get a message that's Bcc:ed to me, but I have no idea what address it was sent to. I want to know on my server what email address is was sent to. The BCC does stay hidden, but the server has to know what email address to send to, and that's what it should embed in a header somewhere. I've checked IMAIL and a few others, they all do this.

Apparenty-to type deal for Bcc: emails

I think my old mail-server was adding some kind of X-Apparently-To: type header to emails when they were BCC:ed to me. This was useful when you were trying to say unsubscribe from an email list and you have no idea what you subscribed with (becomes more important with + addressing). Is there any way...
