My understanding of the _domainkey record is that it is (or was) used with DomainKeys, and not DKIM. Of course I could be wrong.

When I run my tests, DKIM-Signature was in lover case and I had no problems with this. :-\ I haven't seen anything indicating that the DKIM-Signature field should be case sensitive. There is also StartSSL http://www.startssl.com/ for free certs.

Some clients already have the root installed, Mozilla I think does, but not Microsoft. Been a while since I looked at this though.

Yes, that took care of every issue I mentioned. Thanks for the rapid response. I use that feature to forward some voicemail messages to my roommate, so she says "thanks" too :)

Another oddity I forgot to mention (and might be a problem with the Thunderbird beta I'm running). Sometimes the messages are not visible and I have to view the source to see what's in them. Moments later, -sometimes- the message IS visible. Really strange.

The random looking characters in that snippet are only base64 encoded representations of the username and password, they aren´t encrypted. I decoded them here:

I think Doom has a good point. I can imagine that some spammer, knowing this behavior about hMailserver could exploit it by retrying a few times. So I think maybe an option would be a better idea than making this standard behavior.

Are the shared folders functional yet? I can't seem to add one since the format changed a while back. If I try to edit permissions it tells me that I can only edit permissions on a shared folder, but I see no way to designate one as shared.

Probably not very many. If you wanted to send spam there are faster less traceable solutions out there. There are however quite a few here that use hMailserver for legit newsletters and such.

It's faster, at the expense of running a spamd service all the time. If you don't get much mail it's pretty much the same either way. Buf if you have a lot of users, it will probably be a necessity at some point.

I think there is always at least ONE header written by SA. My first thought after looking at your script is that perhaps perl is not in your path. If that's not the problem, perhaps you can sprinkle a few "EventLog.Write"s through your script and see if you can determine where it's breaking down.

Since messages which are fetched from other providers are not scanned for spam, (using V5s built in SA client) I think an option in the rules to do this might be a good idea.

I just tried it from work with a 1 MB .pdf and it stalled "Delivering Mail" (Thunderbird Status) at 9%. Well, that's the best way I could describe it. A program named Hotpop downloads messages from Hotmail and then makes them available to a POP client. I set up hMail to do that job. Those particular messages had a problem with the header, which Martin fixed in B279.

With build 279 it appears that the Hotmail/POP issue is resolved. Also I'm not seeing the cached connection issues anymore. I've raised them back up to the default 5 cached connection setting again.
