Re: How to move Data folder

it's just a pain that you would have to give an application that's vulnerable to outside influence access to the network to be able to contact a NAS using a service. True, but you only give that special network account access to the NAS... to nothing else. So it would be the same as giving the serv...

Yes, services can use UNC paths. But you still need to use an account that has access rights on the mapped share.

Fourth option.

Same as second but just mark it as suspicious and let the user decide what to do with it.
I like this option better than the third. :)
This way there is no need for intervention by the administrator.

I'm not trying to use it as a list server. My lists contain no more than 25 members :)

I just don't want to announce the list name to everyone in the list. Especially when you send to receipients outside of your company. Those people don't need to know how we named our distribution lists. That's it.

I'd like an additional option for the distribution lists. Replacing the list name in the To field with the members e-mail address. It has probably to do with DNS. When someone connects to mail.domain.com from outside the office, they connect to the public IP address. Store partial path to email files in database

Storing only the partial path to an email file in the database, would make changing the DataFolder location easier.

This way a path change in the .ini file and a restart from the hMailServer service will change the DataFolder location. This will eliminate the need for database updates.

If firewalling is no option, you could use the IP settings in hMailServer.
Add the IP address to the list. Uncheck all checkboxes including the expire checkbox. This way the IP address will not have access to deliver e-mail.

Re: How to block Certain IP

Blocking an IP address is best done by firewalling the address. That way it doesn't even get to hMailServer. Do you have access to your firewall?

Expires means that the IP (address or range) will be removed after the expire date.

Re: Add option to change SPAM detection order

I think SPF is done last of the pre-DATA checks because this check takes the longest and is the hardest to perform. If other checks fail before SPF then the mailserver doesn't need to check SPF.
E-mail is handled faster on heavily load servers. This could become an issue when changing the order.
