Get/Send via gmail - can I use inbuilt SSL not Stunnel?

Hi I have a non-working 4.4.2-B283 server set up which is meant to collect/send email via Gmail. I think my problem is because stunnel isn't set up properly. I can get it working if I have to but... I can see one of the big changes in 5.x is the addition of inbuilt SSL - does that mean I can do away...

Re: Google Apps Relay - SMTP AUTH

I am uncertain, but I believe that the GUI has changed slightly to do what you want. Did you check the GUI or just the documentation? I am running a slightly older version (b270) I've checked both but can't work it out. Comparing 4.4.2-B273 and 4.4.2-B283 I can't see any differences in the accounts...

Re: Google Apps Relay - SMTP AUTH

I believe that the answer lies in http://www.hmailserver.com/documentation/?page=reference_route Thanks. I've read that - I should have explained a bit more. I understand how to set up the route generally - I'm not sure how to make a seperate route for each SENDER. I can see the "addresses" but tha...

Re: Google Apps Relay - SMTP AUTH

Hi I need to send my email out via gmail but can't work out how to set it up so that each users email gets sent via their gmail account (mail for the domain is hosted using "Google Apps for your domain" and the mail server then pulls it off using POP3 - long story but the mail server is sitting on t...

Spam filtering *before* it arrives at hMailserver

hi I'm helping out a hospital in rural Nepal which has a satellite link. We're thinking of running hMailServer at the hospital so that all the internal mail stays internal (ie doesn't go over the satellite link twice). The biggest problem is how to stop the spam before it travels over the satellite ...

distribution lists & external accounts

hi. I've just set up one domain using gmail as the anti-spam filter and fetching the mail with one external account per hMailserver account. Thanks to everyone here who's written about it - afer a few stunnel hickups it's now working really well. I want to transfer another domain across in the same ...

Try using this config and see if it makes any difference: It works! I'm not sure what the difference is between that and what I was trying (I hadn't posted the whole file, just the bits it complained about) but I don't really care... Sorry about the delay - we've all been sick and this is the first...

Stunnel setup problem for gmail

hi I think I'm following the instructions correctly but I can't get this to work at the stunnel setup stage. I've had stunnel installed & working for ages as a service for hMailserver. I realise I have to run two copies of stunnel if I want to collect mail from gmail. I set up another stunnel.conf f...

What happens if it goes through a number of servers to get to me? eg all my email is forwarded via another server but not everything gets marked with a SPF error Also, what happens when the email address has a subdomain in it - ie fred@subdomain.abc.com.au - does it get checked against the a...

SPF question

hi I'm getting messages from someone marked as SPAM (I'm only adding headers at this stage) and I don't understand why. I'm using the latest Beta but SPF has been there for a while so I don't think it's a beta issue (probably a misunderstanding by either me or the person sending the email). hMailSer...

hi. I turned on greylisting last night and it has pretty much stopped spam - which is good. But I seem to have missed out on some other messages. I got one search result from eBay - instead of 10 and my TiVo daily email didn't make it through. I'm wondering if a Yahoo Group also didn't manage to sen...

Hi
Doesn't the stop/start button in the administrator stop/start the service?

hMailServer Administrator - "server up since" text

hi

Not an important thing but if you stop/start the server using the Adminstrator it doesn't update the "server up since" text. Even if you exit the administrator and start it again the text is still "old".

Using B241 still (will upgrade to 242 tonight!)

Log files zipped - it's amazing how much smaller they get! See PM on how to get them.

The "received" dates for a couple of messages are shown above. They appeared around 6:45am today (just after the server was restarted).

I'm using Clam

Delayed messages appeared when upgraded to B241

hi. I've been running B240 for a couple of days and just upgraded to B241. The first time Thunderbird checked one of my email accounts 6 new messages appeared, some of them sent days ago (20/10/06). The headers show them received by hMailServer days ago - so it's not like they were spooled somewhere...

4.2 b199 -> 4.3 B237 "add signatures to local email&

Hi

Just upgraded and all my domains have this ticked. Whilst I'm not 100% sure what it does, I'm fairly sure it didn't exist before and, if it did, that I wouldn't have had it turned on!

There is a script to do this in
http://www.hmailserver.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2280
though it would be much nicer if it were easier to configure!

OOops. I actually meant to type

Code: Select all

If InStr(LCase(oMessage.To), "distrlist@domain.com") Then
ie convert the "to" field to lower case before doing the check.

Re: Add Reply-To header for Distribution List

And if you want to change the subject to show it was from a list you can do that easily too! I added the "LCase()" conversion - is it needed? Sub OnDeliverMessage(oMessage) If InStr(LCase(oMessage. To), "distrlist@domain.com") Then oMessage.HeaderValue("Reply-To") = "distrlist@domain.com" If Not (InS...
