If you have huge accounts it may have some effect like this but I doubt you'll see it unless you have lots of accounts with many thousands in them (like hundreds of thousands of messages). It depends on the hardware though. I doubt it's a performance problem though, so you need the logs to be able ...

Slow delivery from local machine
Hey guys. On my server that we run hmailserver on, we have an invision board, among other board software. I get lots of emails a day from it (probably about 10-20), but lately I've noticed that some of these messages, which usually appear instantly, take a few minutes or a few hours to get there. I ...

Hm. Alright, well there is a a field to put in PHP options tht would allow me to force the date I imagine.
PHP Mail Extra Options
Example: -femail@address.com will force a 'From' header.
Are these common php things or would I have o look them up?

Timestamps incorrect with BBS software?
I reported this a long time ago and have seen other threads regading it. Here is the issue: When our board software (invision Powerboards) sends an email via SMTP, it shows up in everyone's inbox as being recived December 31, 1969 at 7 PM. Now, the board is configured not to use the PHP smtp configu...

I wish i could test it for you. Sorry but I actually fixed it right after I posted here and then my DNS was crapping out so I couldn't get back here to mention that :/ I just booted up my old server on my local network, connected to it, and copied all my emails over to the new server via Thunderbird...

Rebuild a list of emails
Well, I fixed my SMTP problem and Windows 2k was to blame. ITs a long story. Anyway, now I have another issue. Because my friend is a genius, when we moved servers he didn't replace the 'data' folder in the hmailserver directory. So when I accessed my mail, my old messags came on as "Does not exist"...

Thats not the case. I use about 10 computers with pretty much the same client (Thunderbird or Mozilla mail). The configurations never changed since I installed them and they worked up until recently. Even squirrel mail, which hasn't changed from the beginning no longer functions. However I have disc...

Doh :) Hmailserver 3.4.1. I was pretty sure they were unrelated. Unfortunately I can't find any logs that tell me about when its trying to deliver messages. Only when It is receving them. I also eventually get an email saying that it could not be delivered and it tried 101 times (what I set it to). ...

I misunderstood the question. Most emails (if they are not from my email server like from one of my boards) have dates. The ones I get from the board softwares and from other people on my server only have the time and not the date (or unknown date as it says in SQ). The ones I am talking about here ...

User groups, send limiting, and SMTP queue count
Just a few suggestions. 1. User groups: This allows you to set the features of the accounts in bulk. Like set the mailbox limit, if authentication is required, etc. 2. Limit user/group on send size: The ability to set a limit on how big of a message/attachement they can send. 3. Number of messages q...

Hmm.. perhaps its just you. I've left it up and running for a while with no such problem frmo any user and I often use the latest available hmailserver version. You ARE using Windows 2k acording to netcraft so it could be the way it handles the server thread. I often had alot of problems with the se...

Email all users function and logfile size limit
First, I'd like to recomend a Email All Users function. The distro lists are a fine function yes, but to email all of your users to inform them of downtime would suck. I infact dod it last night and it too kover na hour to make the list. But this function would be simple, simply replicating an email...

Thats exactly what I did to remedy this. Yeah it was that my server was being spammed. For some reason I had it set to 'Always Relay' Which was a bad thing. Its fixed now. After deleting the 6000 queued messages in my mail folder it worked like a charm. Now I just gota delete those massive log files...
