Re: Error HM5032 "Incorrect String Value"
hmailserver will randomly 'freeze' by not allowing any smtp connection. and partly refuse imap connections, though it still accepts imap and pop though for most users . Having looked at the error log when this happens, I see many entries like this: "ERROR" 4644 "2013-06-13 07:59:15.359" "Severity: 2...

Re: Save emails on server
I have recently been researching something similar. The best solution if you have 2 servers, is under Settings -> Advanced -> mirror. specify there an email address which is on your second email server. that's it. Any email sent or received will be automatically forwarded to the email address you sp...

Support RFC1891 (Delivery Status Notification or DSN)
I'd like to put this feature up for voting. DSN allows users to request from the sending SMTP server to let them know when the message has been delivered to the MX record. This will allow users sending mail via hMailServer with the DSN flag turned on, to get a receipt (a notification) when the email...

Support for rfc 1891
Hi,
Does anyone know if hMailServer supports rfc 1891 (http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc1891.txt)
if not, is it something that is being planned for in future version
Thanks.

Re: incorrect behaviour from distribution list

how to stop attemtps to compromise hMailServer
Hello, We run HMS version 5.0 In the log I see a lot of attempts to authenticate as a legit user to send email. there are only 3 users on the system and i know it isn't any of them. So clearly this is some sort of dictionary attack. Is there a feature in HMS to "suspend" and ip address from trying t...

Re: hms to always try to deliver externally - can it be done?
Absolutely have it as an option, and not as default behavior. I used to work for ISP and we always have the resellers forget to delete/disable a mail account, and then clients used to complain, they don't get email from website. when we check the option, try to deliver external all support calls for...

Re: hms to always try to deliver externally - can it be done?
Martin thanks for the reply.
I guess that's what I will have to do.
Maybe it is a good feature to add to hMailServer - always try to deliver externally first
this way ISP can make use of this for reseller hosting.

Re: hms to always try to deliver externally - can it be done?
if only it was so easy :D we have a control panel, and resellers can add any domain they want. sometime they forget to delete a domain, or when they add a domain for web hosting, the don't check off the mail, so a mail account is created. so is there a way to tell hMailServer to deliver externally?

hms to always try to deliver externally - can it be done?
Hi, We do small web hosting on a server that also have hMailServer install. sometimes it happen that HMS is setup with a domain, no user, but we're not responsible for mail - in other words the MX record isn't pointing to us. The website sends emails via HMS. errors we get: user not found (or someth...

that's fantastic. Thank you!
Would you know if there's a way to connect to the activex (i would assume it's that) component to manage hms programatically from a different server?

mattg thank you. I just installed ver 5 and have found the settings. this is great. I didn't have an option to choose which database to use, and hms is using the default sql ce. I just figured out that i can change the settings in hmailserver.ini - is there any way to migrate the existing data from ...

multiple ports for pop & smtp
First I would like to thank Martin for a sterling job on this mail server. Martin - Thanks! I am looking to migrate to hMailServer. Most of my users (about 80%) use port 995 (Secure POP) for retrieving mail, the rest use either normal pop3 (port 110) and a combination of IMAP (143) and Secure IMAP (...
