What method of testing did you use. Full command, you can Obscure the IP if need be.

For the settings, did you select the port as an SSL port or as an normal port.

If you telnet normaly to the port do you get an answer then?

Make sure the client that is sending it (or hMailserver) is authenticating during the send. If it is in Outlook go to your setting and there is an option to authenticate with the correct credentials. Like percepts says, it is illegal almost anywhere to do that without notification of the user or a court order. Just keep in mind that e-mails not send trough your mailserver, but trough (for example) your ISP will not be copied.

if you want to backup a MySQL database, always use the dump database.

If it is a windows machine you might want to use MySQL workbench and if it is a linux server you want to do it scripted with a cronjob.

It looks like your DNS servers are not repsonding correctly. Is the server able to connect to for example google.com, or is that also not possible.

There is no limit for hmailserver.

The database size is the limit for the SQL version you have.
For the limit of e-mail's is the complete size of your disk.

Any other limits are only hardware limits.
