Re: Event Script using *JScript*

I don't know why I didn't find this before when searching the forum, but I found this thread that seems to answer my question.

http://www.hmailserver.com/forum/viewto ... f=9&t=3612

Update: The sample JScript in that post works great.

Event Script using *JScript*

When I set the scripting language in hMailServer to use JScript, do I need to create my script file named "EventHandlers.js" instead of "EventHandlers.vbs"? That would make sense, but I cant get a JScript to work either way. I have pressed the Reload Scripts button and even restarted the server. I a...

roundcube plugin (passwd/away/fwd)

i have modified ZabbensX's roundcube plugin (originally posted here ) so that it works properly with the latest roundcube (0.1.1) and so it uses activex component calls instead of accessing the hmail database. Download Here and just overwrite the existing roundcube files. (this patch also includes s...

HOWTO: Using Symantec AntiVirus Corporate with hMailServer

first you will need to install symantec antivirus on your hmail server and verify auto-protect is functioning. it is best to choose *not* to install any email scanning features when installing sav. you may also wish to select to exclude certain directories (ie. sql directories) from auto-protect to ...

Re: NTFS Cluster Size (Allocation Unit Size)

I think this would only become a problem if you have hundreds of thousands of accounts, processing millions of emails a day ... ^DooM^: you mean the wasted space, or the performance impact of small cluster size? i tried reducing the cluster size on one of my servers today, and i found some disk spa...

Re: Roundcube, hMailserver AND how users can change their passwd

i just finished installing the patched files from: http://www.roundcubeforum.net/showthread.php?t=2503 so that my roundmail users can change their passwords, set vacation messages, and set mail forwarding. because i am using microsoft sql for my hmail i would not have been able to get the password f...

NTFS Cluster Size (Allocation Unit Size)

i have noticed that with the default ntfs cluster size (4kb) a lot of small eml files like with hmailserver seems to cause plenty of wasted disk space. does any one have any experience with storing the hmail data on a volume formatted with a smaller cluster size? what are the drawbacks to doing this...

Re: Perform / Script action upon Bounce Message

i have successfully implemented bounce-back processing, but it was a bit of a pain. i had to set a return-path header on my outgoing mail that points it to a made-up email address with a message id number (bounce_12345@mydomain.net). then i created a catch-all account for this domain, and put some c...

Re: How to remove messages from the queue

i would like to know how to do this also. for instance, in the OnAcceptMessage method, i would like to delete certain messages from the queue before they are delivered to the user's mailbox.

Re: again: changepass and COM api

the only other way i can think of is to run a web-service on your hmail server and write an asp/php page simply to change password. then the only port you have to open is port 80 or 443 and have your script on your squirrel box call the web page on your hmail box and parse the result. the password c...

Re: Perform / Script action upon Bounce Message

^DooM^ - thank you for your response. i found the second post more helpful than the first, and i may use that script for log parsing, however i am looking for something more dynamic for bounce-back processing (event-driven; presumably in the OnAcceptMessage function). i will probably have to develop...

Perform / Script action upon Bounce Message

is there a feature that will allow me to perform an action when i receive a bounce-back message from a recipient server. ie. log the sender / recipient / error msg & code to a custom database table and then delete the message. this will be helpful as i will be sending mail out to various recipients ...
