Creating Folders and moving messages directly into the DB

Is it possible to create folders and move messages directly into the DB?

I've analyzed the DB and I understood how folders are created and messages are indexed: are there any problems to move messages and create folders into the DB?

Re: MOVE instead of COPY

Hi Bill!

So

Code: Select all

;SAMoveVsCopy=1
; Tells hmail to use move vs copy+delete. Defaults to 0 which means use "copy"
is "SpamAssassinMoveVsCopy"…

Understood! :-)

MOVE instead of COPY

Hi to all, I read in the BUILD thread it's now possible to move messages instead of copy them: I think it's a great improvement. But I wish to know how the move is handled: how hmailserver know that the move is processed fine? What about any problem during the move? Just to know before enabling :-) ...

Re: Attachment filename being corrupted sometime

I didn't broke the MIME part: http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc2184, section 3. The original parameter value is recovered by concatenating the various sections of the parameter, in order. For example, the content-type field Content-Type: message/external-body; access-type=URL; URL*0="ftp://"; URL*1="cs...

It cannot be a client issue because the file on the server (read in the DATA directory) has the correct the filename, instead the response by hmailserver is wrong.

Re: Disk performance

Let me understand: the only difference in db between 5.3 and 5.4 is how files are indexed into the db?
In 5.3 (ie):

C:\Program Files\hMailServer\Data\domain.tld\user\xx\FILENAME.eml

in 5.4:
domain.tld\user\xx\FILENAME.eml

Is this correct?

The log is off for IMAP, it's on for POP3 (barely used), SMTP and TCP/IP.
So reading a message use the disk just to read it.

Re: Disk performance

How can I post the logfile?
Of course it's very big...

Re: Script help - moving email between folders

Thanks!
I saw your script is ok, but I need to move instead of delete: unfortunately I'm not able to write a single line of code :-)

I'll really appreciate whoever try to do this script (I think useful to many, a lot of users "left" old emails in the inbox…).

Thanks

Re: Script help - moving email between folders

I think this feature is very cool!
But I don't find anything about its implementation.

Is there a script ready-to-run to move all old messages from the INBOX into an OLD directory?

The best would be to create a tree of old messages, like

\OLD
\OLD\2009
\OLD\2010

and so on...

Anyone?
