Re: MX query; add to Greylist whitelisting

I thnk 5.3 has already implemented this feature... with graylisting by-passed on MX pass? Thanks for the reply and reminder. Since sending mail from a (semi)dynamic IP address has become more and more of a problem (and nuisance), I've been forced to host my website and email handling elsewhere. As ...

Re: MX query; add to Greylist whitelisting

Not sure what you mean. This request was for adding returned MX lookups to the whitelist, what's that got to do with aliases? Apologies; this is caused by a mixup on my side. There's another feature request that I added: "Distribution list; option for member to send, but not receiv" and I was think...

Re: MX query; add to Greylist whitelisting

5 people would find it useful so far. Thing is, It's one of those requests that's not a priority and will gain votes slower. Hi, Thanks for the reply and update. Understandable, although a bit annoying for me personally. :-) I could try if it is possible to achieve what I need by creating an alias ...

Re: MX query; add to Greylist whitelisting

Hi,

Noone else appears to find this useful. Am I correct?
Could this somehow be done with a script?

Re: Add to distribution lists

Thinking a bit about this; would it be possible to add an option to members of a mailing list, namely 'do not send to', or more generally; do not forward to original poster?
Just an idea.

Distribution list; option for member to send, but not receiv

Hi, At present there are three options for distribution lists: 1) Public - anyone can send to the list (with the risk of multiple users receiving loads of spam). 2) Membership - only members can send to the list. 3) Announcements - only one person (f.e. the mail admin) can send to the list What I wo...

MX query; add to Greylist whitelisting

Hi, hMailserver has been offering the option to do an MX-query (through hMail admin / Utilities / MX-query) for quite q while now. I've been using it to create a whitelist of IP addresses for greylisting. It's a bit of a bear though. You have to write down the found IP address(es) and add them by ha...

Re: Cant make it work

No problem, I ran into much the same questions and problems when I started setting up mail and webservers here. Since I've found ZoneEdit (http://www.zoneedit.com) a couple of years ago, it's become much easier. They allow you to setup NS records for free for up to five domains. I can recommend it. ...

Re: Cant make it work

Hi, Helping you could be a bit difficult, depending on the company you registered your domain name with. Do they allow you to change settings for their nameservers? You could call them / contact them and ask if this is possible (usually it is) and how to go about it. They can probably help you to co...

Re: Cant make it work

Hi,

Main question; did you register a domain name? And if you did, did you correctly setup the MX records?
If this is mumbo jumbo for you, there's probably some learning curve ahead. :-)

Re: Cant make it work

First thing that comes to mind; do you really own the domain you mentioned; mydom.com? Or did you just set it up as an experiment? In the latter case you can make it work by adapting your hosts file (to be found in C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc. In your case you should add the IP address of the ma...

Re: Automated List Server for hMailServer

Hi gsmaclean Great script. Thanks a lot! This was the last thing that's kept me from finally moving from MailEnable to hMailServer. The automatic greylist - whitelisting script was the other topic. Now the move has been completed and things are working perfectly okay. On my working list I have the t...

Re: mailenable to hmail

Well, not really. What I did is the following: Running MailEnable Standard for five different domains, with a total of about 150 users and around 25 mailing lists, I chose to give every domain it's own Post Office. Right click the Post Office of choice and from the menu, choose All Tasks (or somethi...

Re: mailenable to hmail

Hi,

Do a general search on 'mailenable' for this forum and you'll find quite a bit of info. Whether there's an answer; I haven't looked into that (yet).

Re: Error removing items under the name tab?

No problem removing, creating / recreating and removing again any alias on my hMailServer. So it seems like there's a problem with your installation, although I couldn't tell what.

Collectively add distribution list members to whitelist

This option would come in real handy, as I've experienced that some DNSBL's are quite aggressive lately.

Glitch found?

Hi,

I just installed the latest alpha and when setting things up I found that the welcome message for the SMTP and the IMAP part are linked together: hen I change one the other gets changed too. This was / is not the case with the last stable version.

Re: Specific username and password for SMTP authentication

Am I missing something here? Can't you just create a user called 'master@domain.com' and supply the 'master-password' to all users. Users wanting to send could authenticate as 'master', and then send mail as 'user@domain.com'. Use a rule to not allow deliveries to 'master@domain.com' or simply forw...

Yes some users will be able to send out over the server, but only the ones I chose to give the SMTP auth username and password to.... Considering to move from MailEnable Standard to hMailserver, for IMAP primarily, I'd like this feature to be added too. ME allows you to set global SMTP authenticati...

So you want all access to be just 'username' rather than 'username@domainname.com' across four domains? You can't then have an 'admin@domainnameone.com' and also a 'admin@domainnameTWO.com' because your server wouldn't know which account to connect to. In hmailserver, you need to specify full 'user...

Hi,

I'vee been loking for ann answer to the same question as the OP, but couldn't find it. Having a running mailserver with 120+ users for a number of domains, I'd like to know how I can set the username to something different from user@domain.com.
TIA
