How can I change From domain?
Is it possible to automatically change the domain name in the From header of every outgoing email? So it changes *@domain1.co.uk or *@domain2.co.uk to *@newdomain.com. I've actually got 3 old domains but I want every email to have the from field changed to the same new domain. Otherwise I'll have to...

Re: Some attachments are currupted after forwarding
I think this is a Thunderbird issue specifically the well documented 'fetch by chunks' issue. In Thunderbird Options >> advanced >> Config editor >> search for chunks set mail.server.default.fetch_by_chunks to false I tried that but it didn't fix the issue You didn't specify html or plain text emai...

Re: Some attachments are currupted after forwarding
Sorry Bill48105 I wasn't ignoring your previous post. I haven't got access to my setup at the moment so I was going to reply tomorrow. As you're both discussing the issue now however, I'll answer everything I can: I've done my testing using Thunderbird with signatures disabled. Although hMailServer ...

Re: Some attachments are currupted after forwarding
I've zipped the PDF and attached it. When I forward it as an email though I dont zip it. I tried it with beta release 5.4 - 1931. Is it the experimental build that has the modified buffering then? I can test the experimental build tomorrow. To reproduce the problem, try the following: 1. attach the ...

Some attachments are currupted after forwarding
Attachments in forwarded emails sometimes get currupted. I've noticed it with Word and PDF files. Its difficult to reproduce with most attachments, I've tried resending a few and its worked ok. However, I do have one PDF file which I can use to reproduce the problem 100% of the time. I even setup hM...

Re: Whats the best way to backup hMailServer?
Thank you Bill48105 and mattg. Robocopy's an amazing tool it works perfectly. The offline backups used to take 2h 19m. The first time I ran Robocopy, the initial full copy took 1h 2m. That in itself was a huge improvement. The next night, Robocopy synced the days changes and it only took 4 minutes I...

Re: Message undeliverable
It was my own stupid fault – I set up a script to run every night on the backup computer which does a full restore of hMailServer. This means that if the main server ever goes down for whatever reason, everyone will still have access to a copy of their email until I fix the main server. Plus I can b...

I've restored a backup of hMailServer 5.3.2 to a spare computer to make sure the backups are working. The data structure is exactly the same on both the live server and the spare. When I accessed my IMAP inbox on the spare computer, most of my email had been restored. However, about 20 emails couldn...

Duplicate email for connected users during backup

Shadow Copy hMailServer on Vista?
I'm thinking about using hMailServer on a production server running Windows Vista because of its Shadow Copy service for the purpose of doing online backups without shutting down the hMailServer/MySQL services. Would anyone recommend against this?

Re: V5 and external MySQL DB
Depends on what you need. If it's a small installation, MSSQL CE will do fine. If it's a larger installation (more than a few users) MySQL might be a better choice. Ok thanks. In that case I would rather use MySQL. What about future versions of hMailServer? I'm worried that you might eventually dec...

The thing with moving everyones old email to a backup is that each time somebody wants to look at an old email, they would have to ask you to restore it. By the way, is Tie-RDBM the same as Tie-RDBM-Cached?
