Re: Prevent spammers from using my email address
In addition to what Matt suggested, you might check your SMTP logs (which should always be enabled for reasons like this) to see if any of the messages FROM someone@somedomain.com followed an AUTH command (indicating an abused account). Also, you can reduce the problem indirectly by publishing an SP...

Re: IP Ranges => Hostnames
How hard is it to get my outlook or thunderbird client to say that it's self identified name is 'trusted.dynamic.hostname'? If we're getting picky, then it's usually the OS or SMTP daemon that determines the hostname (not the mail client) but that's splitting hairs, of course. That part is easy. We...

I have disabled all spam and virus to eliminate any variables. Re: IP Ranges => Hostnames
I think what thecutter is envisioning is an IP Range or whitelisting based on a (verified) hostname, e.g.: - SMTPD receives "EHLO/HELO trusted.dynamic.hostname" from IP address a.b.c.d - If IP Range or whitelist contains "trusted.dynamic.hostname", then perform DNS lookup - If "trusted.dynamic.hostn...

You don't say what version you're using. I'm guessing 4.4.x... Probably a permissions issue, but start by doing what the error message suggests: Access the web site from the server itself using the "localhost" address so it will give you a more detailed error message.
Also, additional information is likely to be in the Windows event and/or IIS log.

Does hMail greylist local domains? I didn't think it did but could be wrong. Greylisting applies to any host connecting from an IP range that has spam protection enabled unless the host is whitelisted or a forwarding relay. See hMailServer 4.4 Flowchart v0.1: http://www.hmailserver.com/forum/viewto...
