I've been looking into this, and I agree that roundcube is very slow at searching. I've been playing, and am not getting anywhere. Emails will only be there if

a) they have not been downloaded by POP3 yet
b) The POP3 client keeps copies on the server

You need to upgrade - probably to latest.
5.3 only did SSL connections, no startTLS

Backup first - to be safe
You should update to latest 5.3.x then latest 5.4.x then latest version

The only way is to merge the XML files, and that is a huge task, especially with two large databases.

With smaller setups, I've moved a single domain this way, it is just cut and paste.

hMailserver / PHPWebadmin relies on DCOM to function correctly. (This is a Windows component)

You could set a reverse proxy on your NAS to your phpwebadmin.

At this point, I'm going to guess that you have software doing a man-in-middle, that takes connections from your clients and connects to your server. The problem with using wireshark on the computer with hMailserver, is that hMailserver already sees this mail as from your public IP address. This is because your router does NAT loopback (which is great), but wireshark will only see the same detail that hmailserver does, unless something on the mac...

Those errors are unrelated to your issue. Updating to newest Beta will slow them down we think. I think that your issue is related to your DNS settings Your PTR record is for your other domain, not this one. You can only really have one PTR record, so I'd suggest changing your DNS MX record for this...

All I can say is that a) it came from that IP address, and b) the user trying to authenticate is admin [at] baka-nXXX-netXXXX.org

If your router has logs, that should show the originating LAN IP address
