It looks to me like this "sendHTMLemail" script is not issuing an "RSET" SMTP-command when done with the first email and attempting to deliver another one during the same SMTP connection session.

I see what you are saying and I have wished myself that some servers would be less harsh on submitting 5x codes under certain circumstances but saying that 5x codes are supposed to be rejections and if a mailserver sending to me ignored my 5x codes i'd be somewhat annoyed.
