secureserver.net is owned by GoDaddy.com; they host some of my mail. I retrieve mail from pop.secureserver.net using POP3 over SSL on port 995. The box which is pulling the mail is on the roadrunner network (Brighthouse Cable broadband).

Either the new version fixed the problem or the forced DB upgrade fixed the problem; either way it seems to be working okay. I have noticed that searches are MUCH faster after now (either that or just the fact that I haven't done any search while has warped my since of time .

BTW. For those interest, this has to do with running PHP5 (stable - 5.0.5) instead of PHP4 with SquirrelMail and has nothing to do with hMailServer. The fix, for those running a stable version of SquirrelMail (stable - 1.4.5; or SM Mod .02 which is based on 1.4.5) is to replace about 6 lines of code...
