Re: Problem Retreiving GMAIL
I have solved my problem. On my personal server, I had a brute force script that was inserting a blocking policy for A class networks after a series of conditions were triggered (IE: multi-IP addresses range in a short time frame testing various ports and security holes, etc....). Anyway, the IP add...

Re: Problem Retreiving GMAIL
Hopefully, someone can offer a suggestion even if it's not hmailserver related. Suggestions would greatly be appreciated!

Re: Problem Retreiving GMAIL
I filtered on 74.125.47.109 (pop.gmail.com). I noticed that there isn't any response after 10 seconds and after 20 seconds, the connection is logged in hmailserver. Can that time be increased (is there a reason to?)?. -d P.S. I have attached the wireshark captured data. The data is from two manual s...

Re: Problem Retreiving GMAIL
Well, the services for McAfee isn't running (Network Associates) so it's unlikely that any it's running. Additionally, since I can pull mail from pop.secureserver.net:995 would imply that 995 not being block. And while it doesn't mean that the domain isn't being blocked from my side, it is highly un...

Re: Problem Retreiving GMAIL
secureserver.net is owned by GoDaddy.com; they host some of my mail. I retrieve mail from pop.secureserver.net using POP3 over SSL on port 995. The box which is pulling the mail is on the roadrunner network (Brighthouse Cable broadband).

Re: Problem Retreiving GMAIL
I have just the normal McAfee (anti-virus only) but it's currently disabled. I get connect failed for telnet and openssl: C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>telnet pop.gmail.com 995 Connecting To pop.gmail.com...Could not open connection to the host, on port 995: Connect failed C:\Documents and...

Problem Retreiving GMAIL
Does anyone else have any problem with retrieving mail from GMAIL (Google Mail)? I have an account setup on POP3 995 SSL (using HMailServer 5.1.2-B346). This was working for a while, then one day (a long while ago), it just stopped working. Today, after moving from hMailServer 4.x to 5.1, I am looki...

Re: HM4377 Error on Search
Either the new version fixed the problem or the forced DB upgrade fixed the problem; either way it seems to be working okay. I have noticed that searches are MUCH faster after now (either that or just the fact that I haven't done any search while has warped my since of time

Re: HM4377 Error on Search
I created a new folder under INBOX and did a search. It came back fine. I moved a newly received message into the folder and did a search. I received the same error. I cleared the logs and repeated the test (but skipped the step in creating the folder as it was already there) and saved the logs (att...

Re: HM4377 Error on Search
Hi Martin,
Any ideas? It's getting more and more annoying, to me and the others, not to being able to search....
Thanks,
-Dan
Edit: Is there anything you would like me to try, to further troubleshoot the problem?

Re: HM4377 Error on Search
Martin, Okay (imap enabled -- new log attached). Cleared out log and did a search (already logged in). Got the error but not much in the log. Did a seach again; got a different error (not the 60 seconds timeout by squirrelmail): ERROR: ERROR: Connection dropped by IMAP server. Query: SEARCH CHARSET ...

HM4377 Error on Search
I am using squirrelmail 1.4.15 with hMailserver 4.4.1_B273 MySQL (part of hmailserver install); it's a low traffic system (5 concurrent users). And when I do a search, I get the following error: "ERROR" 3336 "2008-09-21 14:43:37.976" "Source: SocketConnection::OnDataReceived, Code: HM4377, Descripti...

I think you should be able to turn it "psuedo-off" as you request by modifying the settings under IP Ranges. By psuedo-off, I mean that you uncheck the box so that it no longer accepts incoming but not disable the service since other feature(s) still requires it. And because it crashes the POP3 col...

:) BTW, if you're interested in why I turned it off..... It is for security and the fact that I already have an SMTP already running (List Manager). Granted, it's behind a firewall and I can change it to a non-standard port (which I did); it would be nice to have the ability to turn if pusedo-off --...

Martin, Here's an interesting thought. If I'm using hMailServer purely as an IMAP (SquirrelMail) and POP3 collector. I shouldn't need to enable the SMTP server under the Settings->Protocol's, right? I think that if you disable SMTP server; that's when you get the exceptions. I'm going to take a brea...

Okay. Just sent both -- since it's a new "day". I sent the new logs for both. Additional information: looking at the <installdir>\Data, I see ~150 files of downloaded messages that are unprocessed (?) but it seems to be the same 3/4 test messages that I have on the server. Seems to be downloading th...

BTW. For those interest, this has to do with running PHP5 (stable - 5.0.5) instead of PHP4 with SquirrelMail and has nothing to do with hMailServer. The fix, for those running a stable version of SquirrelMail (stable - 1.4.5; or SM Mod .02 which is based on 1.4.5) is to replace about 6 lines of code...
