Re: S/MIME signature corrupted with attachments

Anything else in the way such as AV / ASSP / SA / DPI firewall etc? Nope. The test mails have been sent directly to hMail's local SMTP. The issue also occurs when hMail is collecting from extern POP3. ClamAV is called as a command line scanner in hMailserver when receiving the Mail. This was the on...

S/MIME signature corrupted with attachments

hMailserver 5.3.3-B1879 is corrupting S/MIME signatures, when the mail has attachments. The problem occurs due to modified MIME headers in multi-part messages. For example, the correct mail contains the following MIME header (note: multiple lines; "filename" indented). That's how Thunderbird creates...

Relaying to SMTP only supporting STARTTLS

Since hMailServer 5.0 SSL is available for SMTP connections. Port 465 is assigned to this protocol. However my ISP only supports the "STARTTLS method". Typically, the usual TCP port 25 (or 587) is used for this method. The communication starts unencrypted and enters encryption mode by an explicit co...

Re: timeout while talking to the remote server

The problem with that is if you only have three delivery threads (default) running and a user sends out 10 large emails to a company and for whatever reason the receiving server dies those three threads will be locked for a long time thus rendering your mailserver useless until it hits the hard lim...

Re: timeout while talking to the remote server

I had a short look at the publicly available source code for Version 4.4. If I understand it correctly, hMailServer sets a fixed timeout of 10 minutes for "SMTPClientConnection" (where hMail talks to another SMTP server) the same way as it does for its server connections. When SMTP data is sent to t...

timeout while talking to the remote server

Hi, I've got a strange behavior when relaying to my provider's SMTP server with hMailserver 5.0-B236. I never had (or at least did not realize for over 2 years) this issue with the previously installed 4.4 versions. I have thin upstream (~128 kBit/s) and when I try to send large mails (12 MBytes in ...

Directly deleting/replacing files from the user account data

Hi, can hMailserver "tolerate" the situation when mail files referenced in the database are deleted or replaced by other files, without updating the database? Background: We have the situation that viruses that were not detecteable when they got delivered are now sleeping in the IMAP folders of some...

Re: Re:

Are you making assumptions here or have you tested this and know categorically that deleted messages are removed from an already-obtained messages collection? I only made a short test with a small collection of mails and noticed that the original script did not work. So I applied the changes posted...

Re: hMailServer 5.0, build 287 (Alpha)

What about Mulberry Have you ever installed Mulberry or seen screen shots? Ye-gads it's ugly. I don't mean to insult the developers and I know fashion should follow function, but I don't think I could look at that screen for more than 5 minutes. I admit it works and looks quite "unusual". H...

Re: hMailServer 5.0, build 287 (Alpha)

If you can find an IMAP client which actually supports modifying ACL attributes of IMAP folders you can use that. I haven't found a single on which does that yet though. So you'll have to wait for an upcoming build. What about Mulberry from http://www.mulberrymail.com: According to its reference gu...

Minor Issue: File Dialogs for SSL Certificates in Administra

Just discovered a less important flaw in the Administrator:

The file browse dialogs on "SSL Certificates / Add" allow "All Files" and are pre-filled with an unreasonable default file name.
