Re: Realtime hMailServer Log viewer

I realise this is an old thread but.. Bill48105 - do you still have the code changes you made to this great viewer to allow pop and imap You said : "I changed the smtpd smtpc case to default so I could use it for POP, IMAP..." I searched for a case statement but can't see where to make these changes...

Re: Scrollout F1 530 error

Did you ever resolve this issue? I just spent two days on this and my conclusion is that the problem is the discusion between ScrollOut and HMS - it appears that even if you set up a route correctly - and the mailbox definately exists, HMS always sends a 550 when it gets a request from ScrollOut or ...

Reload root directory files

Is it possible to only reload the root data directory files into the database ( using DataDirectorySynchronizer ) / re-queue files in the root data folder I have had to manually remove a whole load of spam files and clean up the hm_messages table But now I have 1000+ legitimate looking emails in my ...

Re: Forwarding and IP Ranges

I tried turning each port off individually in my internet IP range - and ended up stopping the in-flow of spam when I turned off IMAP. I suspect a clients account was hacked on cellphone/tablet.

Forwarding and IP Ranges

Hi guys : I am busy trying to secure my mailserver - having been hacked through an IMAP account last night ... I have locked down my server really well using IP ranges - only incoming SMTP via spam server. If I want to set up a forward on an email, do I need to set up a range to allow 127.0.0.1 to :...

Re: data directory synchronizer per domain?

Can you run the data directory synchronizer per domain? 4 years later, the answer is Yes. Martin - Found this post but can find no other reference in the docs as to how to do this - can you please point me at the new procedures ( I am too scared to just run dds to see if it asks for domain name )

Re: API download

I am assuming 32 bit
There are a number of articles on the web about running 32 bit under IIS7
Bottom line is you need to change your Pool to 32 bit and the theory says it should work
In Application Pool for the site - in Advanced Settings look for Enable32-Bit applications

Sorry - went away for a while but now need to resolve this. I am trying to set up a web interface to change passwords etc. Using .net 4.0 (so not vbs) and hmail 5.3 In .net 2.0 I used to do this by installing Interop.hMailServer in my bin folder for the website , and then I could happily make calls ...

Re: API download

Sorry guys - I am still missing something In 4.x I needed to download a com wrapper that I could use in asp.net ( Interop.hMailServer.dll) and then happily made the API calls once this was in my bin folder / referenced in Visual Studio - but I see no-where to download a version for 5.x Is there some...

Mailbox closed message

Forgive me if I am missing something, but is there a way to make a mailbox inactive AND to send an autoreply message. i.e I want to 'close' a mailbox and then set up an autoreply to say " this mailbox is now closed" or " I am on long holiday and not checking my mail " (We should be so lucky !!) Than...

Take a look at the implimentation in Rocklifes Mailsite. You can set up a maillist address - myclients@mydoman.com and then use a 'select eMail, name at mydatabase' statement (and possible an odbc connection if remote) to dynamically populate the members list. This is EXTREMELY powerfull, as the mem...

How? There is no option in the Administrator to 'link' a maillist to a sql statement?
The thinking is that you already have a database of email addresses, and you want to 'point' the members list at this list (select email from mydata )

Distribution list from database

A really nice feature I have seen in other mail servers is the ability to dynamically generate a distribution list from a database ( i.e) in the members tab you have the option to enter a sql statement that gets the relevant data ( name & eMail ) from a database - this then allows maintenance of the...

Martin - installing .Net

Martin - I just install dotnetfx 2.0 - this then adds .net to IIS
I can then program against this with any editor I choose - all I need are the class libraries / dll's - which I put in the /bin folder
All my development is in web forms, and VS is very clunkly for web pages

For those not using Visual studio

Just to try and understand how to use the API on .Net when not using Visual Studio What I would normally do is have a dll in my /bin folder in the app on my .Net server and would then be able to access all the classes of that dll. If I understand your post correctly, the class library that you have ...
