Well we all make mistakes. My mistake this time was that as part of my debugging I was restarting the SMTP portion of IIS, what I should have done is an IIS reset.

Oops... It did exactly what it was supposed to. I had set the IP range that would match 209.x.x.200 to a priority of 9 which was below 10, my non-relay IP range. I had done this last night whilst debugging, just to make sure I didn't have the concept of priorities backwards. Thanks for your help. Paul

We are only using POP, not IMAP, so the likelyhood of bugs is less.

Just for grins I checked the event viewer for the time the message was received, and there were no events in either the system or application logs.

I did not have hmailserver logging turned on at the time of the problem e-mail so that was not recorded.
