Hello,

I just finished intalling hmailserver 4.3 and assp using the how to
instuctions for assp. The only problem I have for now is connecting to the
configuration page for assp using http://127.0.0.1:55555. What I am getting is Cannot Display the Web Page. Assp and hmailserver is running on Windows Server 2003 with IE 7.0

Any help would be much appreicated.

Thanks

Have you checked to see if the service "Anti-Spam Smtp Proxy" is running?

I assume you are accessing the webpage on the server that ASSP is installed.

Do you have a firewall? Perhaps try disabling it.

Try running this in the command prompt on the server to see if ASSP web configuration application is running on port 55555.
netstat -a | find ":55555"

You should get a response similar to this...
TCP myserver:55555 myserver.somewhere.com:0 LISTENING

You should also try posting in the ASSP Help forums.

Hello Raymond,

Thanks for your reply. I tried your suggestion using nestat and what I got
was TCP myserver:55555 myserver:0 Listening

I do have a firewall which is ISA 2004. This firewall is located in front of the system.

Thanks

Karl

Did you follow the ASSP howto from the following link?
http://www.asspsmtp.org/wiki/Quick_Start_for_Win32

The ASSP installation howtos located in this forum are ... out of date.

Also check your Perl version. You will need at least Perl 5.8 for the webinterface to work.

Hi Raymond,

Once again, thanks for your reply. I did what you suggested with installing
the lastest Active Perl 5.8. The installion went well.

The problem I have now is with the Anti-Spam Smtp Proxy Service. When I try to start the service I get and error.

Could not start the Anti-Spam Smtp Proxy Service on local computer. Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

How would I go about removing the service and reintalling it?

Thanks

Karl

you should go to andersonit.com and download and install the assp msi installer package...and then upgrade with the latest upgrade version of assp...

i've never been able to get a working upgrade without configuring the andersonit version first...

good luck...i've installed assp on windows 40+ times in this manner with 100% success....

Code:
perl addservice.pl -u

Type this command in the C:\ASSP folder to uninstall the service.

Code:
perl addservice.pl -i c:\assp\assp.pl c:\assp

And then this to reinstall.

Hello,

I would like to thank you all for your help. You guys have been great.
Using raymond's suggestions I was able to get it all running. I guess the
latest perl "5.8" was the answer and the removing of the service and reinstalling worked.

I would like to make a suggestion. the article http://www.hmailserver.com/forum/viewto ... light=assp
should be modified to say install version 5.8 and not 5.6.

Thanks

Karl
