if I use Thunderibird thousands of email users are formed in folders. Mail from "post mastere can delivery the mail"
if I use a webmail (roundcube) no problem

thanks for your reply

The new data store is the same!
c:\programi files\hmailserver\data.
the only difference is that before I work with w7 32bit and now with 64bit.
I replace pc for more performance and more disk space.
It's normal that in the new pc the mail are stored in the mysql without "C:\Program Files\hMailServer\Data"?
Must i remove with a sql update that from old mail?

tnx.

depends

what does your hMailserver.ini say?

Also, default install for hMailserver on a 64 bit system (in English) is
C:/Program Files (x86)/hmailserver/

dump mysql
install hmail server same version in the new machine
copy data folder
restore ini file
restore mysql
(https://www.hmailserver.com/documentati ... _newserver)
all works perferctly with webmail (roundmail)
the problems are when I use outlook or thunderbird.
In some clients with outlook, the inbox duplicate (many many copies) the mails
In some cleints when I start thunderbird, start a creation of houndred mail of 1kb like this:

From: Postmaster
Subject: Message undeliverable
Date: date e time is in real time

The mail server could not deliver the message to you since the file C:\Program Files\hMailServer\Data\pp.com\username\F4\{F4ADE149-7794-4767-8EAC-099DD538317E}.eml does not exist on the server.

The file may have been deleted by anti virus software running on the server.

hMailServer

So inbox of thunderbird is full of this messages after the normal mail.
I must close TB for stop the loop of generation

I not have antivirus.

can you help me?

there are 2 things that stand out to me:

1, in italian I know that the italian OS have the program files as PROGRAMMI or PROGRAMMI (x86) and yet you are referring to your installation being in PROGRAM FILES (english version). Are you running on english version OS?
2, as matt says the install of Hmailserver will always put its setup in the X86 version of the program files, and yet you are quoting it being in the x64. I also have the install on a 64bit Server and I confirm this is the case.

Now earlier in your post you referred to
bfsistemi wrote:The new data store is the same!
c:\programi files\hmailserver\data.
which simply doesnt fit with anything. So was it a typing error? Given your old server was 32bit only perhaps it didnt have 2 versions of the program directory (hence its quoted as 'program files' which causes the crossover to a 64bit platform a problem)

So, I suspect there is some error in your migration. I would do the migration again.

Did you install the SAME version of HMS on to the new server as you had on the old one? (You SHOULD have!)
MySQL DUMP your old SQL database to file.
Install HMS on the new server again. Do NOT copy the old INI file.
Copy the data folder structure from old server to new server but place it in the structure as the NEW hmailserver.ini file is pointing to.
Restore MYSQL database from the dump file

Yes, if hMailserver expects that file and it isn't there, that message will be created by hMailserver.

tnx for reply
1)my os is in italian
if the path of the email is not correct, you will not see any email. Instead I see perfectly all the mails on both windows live email, both of webmail.
I have problems with thunderbird starts to generate emails from 1k (but i see all the old mail), while outlook duplicates, triplicates etc inbox. Does not make sense. Receiving and sending webmail from work. Receiving and sending email from Windows Live works

2)the path is c:\program files\hmailserver\data in old and new pc

if the path of the file eml was wrong not see any mail ... right?

look this
http://www.hosting.universalsite.org/im ... 3A020D.jpg
this mail i read without problems in webmail/outlook/tb etc.
if the path to the folder date was wrong not display in any program.

tnx

doesnt outlook store the emails in a local PST folder (which would go towards explaining duplication)? and did you simply point the old outlook clients to the new server? And have you checked the thunderbird server configuration?

Anyway, I stand by my suggestion. There are inconsistencies not least of you having these errors. My advice is to reinstall, with the procedure outlined in order to conform to the default file and folder locations - and I suspect this will solve your problems. It shouldnt take you longer than a few minutes as you already have the hmail data folder on the disk which you can simply copyout and place to the new location.

Anyway, I stand by my suggestion. There are inconsistencies not least of you having these errors. My advice is to reinstall, with the procedure outlined in order to conform to the default file and folder locations - and I suspect this will solve your problems. It shouldnt take you longer than a few minutes as you already have the hmail data folder on the disk which you can simply copyout and place to the new location.

in outlook i tryed remove pst
in thunderbird setup is ok

to remove any doubt, I can move the folder data in "c:\data" and then with an "update replace" in mysql db trasform
from c:\program files\hmail server\data to c:\data\
and edit the file hmailserver.ini?

but this explains all the errors of memory that I posted?

There is a table called 'hm_dbversion' with a single value.
This gets updated with each update.
Just 'cause I link to a page and say little else doesn't mean I am not being nice.

Also can you send me the files named C:\Program Files\hMailServer\Logs\minidump at martin@hmailserver.com, so that i can have a look at them to see what triggered the error?

What tool do you use to 'manage' your database?

I use PHPMyAdmin and find it excellent.

If you load the hm_messages table and sort alphabetically, do you notice a heap of files without the data directory shown at the front.
These are files that have been saved since upgrade to 5.4.

If you can script, you can write a query that will remove the stored path for all messages (There are some examples on this forum)
Was the first computer set to language of English or Italian?

I suspect that the 'program files' vs 'programi files' is part of the issue

hi!
I use mysql workbench.
Yes, I update from 5.4 at latest release. and I noticed that after upgrading the messages are not the full path
Both PC was Italian
'programi files' was a typo (errror of tipyng in the post)
in both pc the path was "program files"
so you suggest an update query to remove the path of the file to all the mails?

this is ok? UPDATE hm_messages SET messagefilename=REPLACE(messagefilename, messagefilename, right(messagefilename,42));

tnx for your support
bye

That looks like the correct statement yes. Be sure to take a backup first. After wards you should also run the dds to ensure everything is included.

And don't forget you will need to copy the data files back in from your backup before running the dds. Because otherwise you will now have all the 'file not found' place holder emails replacing the genuine original emails.

run the SQL update commend.
copy over your .EML files again from your old server/backup overwriting existing files but keeping what is already there (new)
Run DDS. (this will ensure all inbound files that are now in the data directory will have been included)
then run this: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=27646 (this ensures your database doesnt refer to files that no longer exist)
