Constantly outbound port: can not connect

Post by helmut19 » 2020-03-29 14:51

Hi all,

I have to migrate to an new Windows Server 2012 because of disk space (service provider).
The same server as before.
It is only the web server and the hMailServer running.
hMailServer from 5.6.6-B2383 to 5.6.7-B2425

I transfered via backup and restore and I also restored the SQLServer database before.
All domains have the sam problem.

I cannot test the server for ports because every portscanner give me "not reachable (telnet, dnstool.ch)
This also on the port 80 which is running well.

I have no idea what can be the problemand I have no idea what it realy means.

Thanks in advance

Make sure windows ports are open and if that doesn't work, turn off windows firewall (to see if that's the issue) If it still doesn't work, call your service provider and tell them to unblock you.

Also, you really SHOULD backup and restore to the same version
Just 'cause I link to a page and say little else doesn't mean I am not being nice.

Thanks for replay.

Hm .. same version.
I can try to make the installation new.

The last time I migrated to a new system I also did backup and restore with
different versions. It worked.

Before mirgation with backup and restore I checked out one domain with mannually
made account. This had the same problem. So I thought I had forgotten something.
Then I made the restore.

The problem is that I cannot test for open or blocked ports as I told before.
May be its blocked by SP. I will phone to them.

Thank for contribution.

I talked to the SP.
The port was really blocked by them.
Now inside diagnostic is ok.

Unfortunately I dont receive messages inspite the diagnostic runs without problem.
But the same was for the old Mailserver when I switched back the dns settings
to the old server this morning.

The www service always switched fine always.
I´m getting insane.
