ERROR MSG BOUNCES FROM OUTLOOK/HOTMAIL.COM

Post by dlee5400 » 2020-03-23 20:53

I am trying to understand why I am getting this message. This literally was working up and until Friday and but by Sunday this week I started getting bounces from Microsoft. Anyone can point me to some help?

Well I am the hosting company as it's my hmailserver. And as you can see it's Microsoft that is rejecting the emails. The configuration is on an AWS windows server and I control the inbound and outbound rules. I haven't knowningly changed anything dealing with these rules in years.

So CHECK on contacting the Service Provider. Anything deeper that you have that isn't a "GUESS"?

It also looks like i am on their block list but again I have been sending/receiving email to outlook.com for years and not sure what configuration changes that have gone out of compliance with them.

Presumably you're not an Amazon employee. This is Amazon's fault for allowing some of their IPs to get listed. Call them and tell them to remove your IP from there PBL.

I also have this problem every few months. Try this form: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/sup ... a03d6b8d75

You have to answer a few times until they unblock your IP. My ISP was never very helpful when I contacted them on this issue. I always had to solve this with Microsoft myself.

Thanks Virinum, this was in fact the issue I was encountering. It turns out I had moved an IIS website (that logs into the hmailserver) to send mail and its IP was flagged by Hotmail/Outlook.com. The IP of the new AWS server wasn't scrubbed and registered so that's why Microsoft flagged the account.

Sorry I didn't follow up earlier - COVID-19 and life happened!
