hmailserver migration from ms server 2016 std to ms server 2019 std

hmailserver migration from ms server 2016 std to ms server 2019 std

hmailserver after installing new on server 2019 std
default builtin MS SQL hmailserver.sqf
stop hmailserver service
and copy entire hmailserver directory from server 2016 std to server 2019 std

builtin DB fail to read and start
error reply cannot find DB, check mailserver.ini

any idea?

migrating from server 2016 to server 2016 working flawlessly

If hmailserver starts on Server 2019, best course of action is to DO A BACKUP using builtin backup with all options selected including compression, copy the backup to the new machine then restore.

MS SQL CE uses windows user permissions, so a different username or password will not work, and a different machine name may also impact.

I'd guess server2016 to server2016 was either lucky, or both on same domain
