Automatic answer editing

Post by Mazufa » 2019-09-28 16:35

Hello

I should be able to send regular response automatic acknowledgments to our free Ewerycloud MailFlow mail server tracking service. This allows them to monitor the operation of my primary email server and my backup email server.

I thought I had already found the perfect solution to the hMailserver built-in auto-reply, but this built-in system delivers only one auto-reply message to the same sender.

Is there any way to customize that to send unlimited auto-acknowledgments to the same sender?

Hope some wise man will come up with an easy solution for me to get unlimited auto-reply to hMailserver email server software :)

This is service: https://www.everycloud.com/round-trip-mailflow-monitor

Setup a rule:

If from contains sender
Then run function Autoreply.

Then add this to the bottom of eventhandlers.vbs

Code: Select all

Sub Autoreply
dim oMessage
Set oMessage = CreateObject("hMailServer.Message")
oMessage.From = "Me <myaddress@mydomain.com>"
oMessage.FromAddress = "myaddress@mydomain.com"
oMessage.Subject = "Hi"
oMessage.AddRecipient "My friend", "myfriend@myfriend.com"
oMessage.Body = "This is the contents of the email."
oMessage.Save
End Sub

Hello

Could you check this script to make sure I configured it correctly? :)

If you see any errors in it, could you please correct the errors, if any?

I would also be grateful if you could still tell me the complete and detailed installation and configuration instructions for this script?

After this script is installed, do I need to install Thunderbird, for example, to send the message? Or is this mere script enough for the hMailserver program to send automatic that response message to Everycloud using this script?

Thank you for your help at this point! :)

Did you try it out? Does it work?

Rule + script is all you need. Will be automatic.

What rule do I have to do besides script to make this auto-reply work?

It obviously doesn't matter which folder I install the script on? I am now saved in a folder hMailServer program. Do I need to enable auto-reply for my postmastet account even if I use a script?

I have not dealt with this kind of script before so I have to ask you. I hope that you guide me because I'm really interested in information technology, and yes things I learned when I was guided :)

YES it does matter

oMessage.AddRecipient "My friend", "myfriend@myfriend.com"
oMessage.Body = "This is the contents of the email."
oMessage.Save
End Sub
Eventhandlers.vbs is in "C;/Program Files (x86)/hmailserver/events/" on a standard install, but of course it does depend on where YOU installed hMailserver

This script MUST be added to the bottom of THAT file
Just 'cause I link to a page and say little else doesn't mean I am not being nice.

I found out that I need to add this code you provided to an existing script file in the Events folder of the hmailserver program and then enable the script from the program control panel.

I have also created a program hMailServer user account with this name as they say here everycloud_mfm@isosomppi.fi everycloudin Guide

I will also accompany you with the help of Everycloud as a picture so you can better guide me.

I note that I have not been dealing with the hmailserver program for a long time and these things are foreign to me.

I hope you will guide me so that I can get an automatic response to work so that I can use Everycloud's MailFlow service.

I hope you understand me that no one can know everything right away I did.

Thank you

Hello

The messages will now go to that right folder as they should, ie the messages will arrive on my server.

But the auto-answer doesn't work for some reason, but what's the reason?

I've added a script at that Event folder in a file there, as shown, but it does not work. So I need help getting this working. Annd clic reload script.

You didn't say before that the subject line had to remain intact. Delete the other script one and put this in event handlers instead. Also, delete the rule because its not needed with this.

Code: Select all

Function Lookup(strRegEx, strMatch) : Lookup = False
   With CreateObject("VBScript.RegExp")
      .Pattern = strRegEx
      .Global = False
      .MultiLine = True
      .IgnoreCase = True
      If .Test(strMatch) Then Lookup = True
   End With
End Function

Sub OnAcceptMessage(oClient, oMessage)

	dim oApp, strRegEx
	strRegEx = "email@address" '<--- CHANGE THIS TO THE FROM ADDRESS OF THE RECEIVED MESSAGE
	If Lookup(strRegEx, oMessage.FromAddress) Then
		Set oApp = CreateObject("hMailServer.Message")
		call oApp.Authenticate(Administrator, password) '<--- CHANGE PASSWORD TO YOUR HMAILSERVER PASSWORD
		oApp.From = "Me <everycloud_mfm@isosomppi.fi>"
		oApp.FromAddress = "everycloud_mfm@isosomppi.fi"
		oApp.Subject = oMessage.Subject
		oApp.AddRecipient "My friend", "myfriend@myfriend.com" '<--- CHANGE THIS TO THE FROM ADDRESS OF THE RECEIVED MESSAGE
		oApp.Body = "This is an automatic reply to " & oMessage.Subject
		oApp.Save
	End If

End Sub
I think this should work. If not, you should get errors, which will be shown in an error log.

I also got a misunderstanding here and that's why I didn't say it. The topic really has to stay the same.

I apologize for the confusion because I do not speak English well and it sometimes causes misunderstandings. I hope you understand.

I added a script file you made but it still didn't work :(

I have taken this message new log files by and I hope you could look at them so we can Troubleshoot to find out why that automatic answer will not work.

I can't view the log on mobile. Please rename the log file, wait for another message to come in, then wait 2 more minutes, then post the contents of the log here.

Also, do you have an error log? It will only be created if you have errors. If you do, post the contents of the log here.

I don't have an error log because there was no such file in the log folder.

I took copy pastel but today's content from that log file. I also took a picture showing the log file name.

Please follow instructions. You posted the contents of the awstats log, which is helpful to the extent that it shows you're receiving mail successfully from SRS0=hes5=XY=everycloudtech.biz=roundtrip_bounce@ik2.com but no attempt to reply has been made. Other than that, it doesn't do us any good.
Please rename the HMAILSERVER log file, wait for another message FROM EVERYCLOUD to come in, then wait 2 more minutes, then post the contents of the log here.
And do not post screenshots or zip files. Post the CONTENT of the log file.

I waited for the Everycloud message to arrive, after which I waited another 5 minutes and then did a hmailserver diagnostics test and renamed the file.

I hope this now shows the reason why the auto-answer didn't work.

hmailserver_2019-09-29.log
Please rename the HMAILSERVER log file: hmailserver_2019-09-29.log , wait for another message FROM EVERYCLOUD to come in, then wait 2 more minutes, then post the contents of the log here.

Rename hmailserver_2019-09-29.log to anything else, then follow the instructions above.

Well I think I have done according to the instructions.

I sent a test message from everycloud service and waited for it to arrive in the mailbox, after which I did a test with the hmailsever test program and then renamed the resulting file.

I can't find another way to name the file. I have named test.txt file name That hMailServer.

I think that file should contain all the information.

The purpose of renaming the file is so you don't have to post 50000 lines of log spam. We only want to see what is relevant. If you rename the log file, hmailserver will start a new log with the same file name. That is the one we want to see after you receive the message. Those log entries will be helpful.

So you mean the text file that will appear in the log folder of hmailserver shortly after receiving the message?

Will I rename this file and press enter and copy the data there?

I already tried renaming the file but if google translator told me correctly then hmail server should restart that text file? Well it didn't do that.

Then try this: turn off hmailserver windows service, then delete the log file, then restart service, then wait for your email, then wait 2 more minutes, then post the log.
