Hello
I'm using Hmailserver since years on my W2003 server with great success.
anti-spam (blacklist...) are activated according to forum recommendation. However, there are still too many spams received by the uses.
I also tried different spam filter tools such as ASSP & spam assassin.
Spam Assassin was very unstable on my server, so I de-activate it. That's pitty as quite well integrated with Hmailserver.
ASSP is a very complex tool to configure and maintenance is also very heavy. There are soo many options !?
Then, I'm looking for any good others recommendations to fight spam with hmailserver.
Main idea is to let the end users managing himself his spam (as googlemail... spam is fwded to "spam box", possibiliuty to train the spam engine....).
Ideal, world the tool should be integrated with roundcube.
I tried to search on the forum, but I did not find any good document about clear recommendations.
Thank you for your feedback
Thomas

Re: Antispam recommendation
^DooM^ has a sticky on his spam settings right here: http://www.hmailserver.com/forum/viewto ... 12&t=15442
With the exception of the Spam Delete Threashold, I use these exact settings myself (thanks ^DooM^) and they are extremely good at flagging the vast majority of spam.
Once you've flagged it, you could set the Spam Delete Threshold to whaever, or just add rules to your connecting clients based on any subject with the [SPAM] prefix.

Greylisting eh? 4 words. Yahoo multiple outgoing SMTPs ....

Re: Antispam recommendation
whitelist yahoo's MTA's then
If at first you don't succeed, bomb disposal probably isn't for you! ヅ
Re: Antispam recommendation
I do...but trying to hunt down Google and Yahoo SMTPs that seem to pop-up like mushrooms, and having lots of users complaining about long delayed e-mails is not a funny thing

Re: Antispam recommendation
Use my greylist script to make things easy
http://www.hmailserver.com/forum/viewto ... =14&t=6698
or use this script to automatically whitelist sent to addresses

Re: Antispam recommendation
If you're serious with your mailserver, try to stick with ASSP, IMHO. Yes soo many options to reduce spam down to 0,00..%Thomas Parvais wrote:Hello

Re: Antispam recommendation
I installed SpamAssasin on a tiny 128MB VMWare virtual machine on the same server and it is chugging along quite happily ever after. Much better that the "native" spamassasin solutions.I memory is not a premium you can try it.
