no user created imap folders visible in SM after upgrade

Post by Thomas Parvais » 2009-07-20 15:41

Hello

I had an issue with one of my last upgrade Hmailserver (5.0 to 5.1) : user's created IMAP folders are not visible anymore under squirrelmail (or not all of them).

The following screenshots of squirrelmail shows that only 2 folders are visible !

Image

They are well ok under thunderbird and on Hmailserver console:

Everything was ok before my upgrade to 5.1.

I've tried with last version of squirrelmail, without success.

I also upgraded to last Hmailserver 5.1.2.346. No effect.

Is there a desync between Hmailserver and Imapfolder ?

Any idea of this very anoying issue ?

Thank you

Does this apply to all accounts on your server?
What if you set up a new account and create 2-3 folders in that? Are those visible then?
What if you create a new IMAP folder under "Inbox"? Is that visible then?

Also thats the nutsmail version of squirrelmail which they have altered.

Does this happen with standard unaltered squirrelmail?
If at first you don't succeed, bomb disposal probably isn't for you! ヅ

What if you, in the new account, create a new root folder rather than a folder under Inbox, does that appear in Nutsmail?

I mean, you say that " no user IMAP folders visible" but some apparently are. We need to figure out what separates the visible folder from the non-visible..

1. I add a new account . 4 standards folders are visible (inbox, sent, trash & draft)

SM config: $default_folder_prefix = '';
$trash_folder = 'Trash';
$sent_folder = 'Sent Items';
$draft_folder = 'Drafts';

2. I add new folder test2 in root (as a subfolder of NONE in SM)
3. I add new folder test3 (by default SM adds it in INBOX (very anoying this but not the real problem)

All are visible.

Here are the Screenshots

Nota: I tried to install roundcube, works well. ==> I suspect something strange with SM/Nutsmail that appeared during hmailserver upgrade ?

Last check - If you create a new folder root account in the "broken" account, is that visible as well?

Can you check if Nutsmail have a folder cache or something similar to that? Maybe it has cached some old information. :-\

Yes it works under broken account if I create a new folder.

I remove all temp files in nutsmail. Also delete my nutsmail profile to get it created from scratch. Nothing changes.

very strange. I wonder what I have to do.

could imapcopy solve my trouble ?
is there a sync tool imap for hmailserver DB ?

Why would this be a 'sync' problem with the hMailServer database considering that the folders show up in Thunderbird?

Can you enable IMAP logging, log on SquirrelMail and then attach the log here?

I have the feeling that SQ considers INBOX as root ==> others folders are not visible

Thomas

Here is the log for a standard login on SM:

Have you set default_sub_of_inbox to false in config.php?

I asked for a reason and I hope you would understand that. It would be helpful if you did some thinking as well. :)
Please see the comment in the SquirrelMail config and see what you think. Does changing the value change the behavior you're seeing?

Then I don't know. Your email client only asks for IMAP folders located under "Test". Maybe the support guys for Nutsmail can see what's going wrong...

Or you could install a vanilla SquirrelMail and see if that works for you. I've done the same upgrade myself using standard SquirrelMail and does not have this problem.
