I jusy got finished installing 0.96.2 with no issues on my secondaary box. It was quite nice and I see the additional clamav databse update in services. SO far (20 minutes ) I like it a lot

FYI, I've just released version 1.3.0 of my ClamSup script. For the list of changes please see
http://hideout.ath.cx/clamav
bescher wrote:Going to donate a little right now
Bob, should you read this: I've tried to send you a mail by using two different accounts and both times it bounced with "550 5.7.1 Rejecting due to security policy". Then I wrote you a PM here which you didn't read (I presume you didn't got the notification mail because of your server's security policy

) so I'm about to give up now.
Best regards,
Nico

Hi Nico,
BTW, in latest clamsup.ini pls look at one of the sanesecurity lines
i think it should read rsync://rsync.sanesecurity.net/sanesecurity;etc...
but it's rsync://rsync.sanesecurity.net/etc.. in original download.
i don't remember now which line it was. FYI.
Thanks once again for the good work.

That's your country blocking policy of which I'm admittedly not a friend at all because you can't reliably tell by it's domain in which country a server is located. My server appears to be at the Christmas islands (cx) but it's a dyndns domain and located in Germany. This forum is btw. also located at a server in Germany which explains why you don't get notification mails. My mailing list server is located in the USA, hence you receive the mails.

Apparently you've removed the filter for .cx but not for .de so my mail bounced again. I've send another one to the Yahoo address you've mailed me (last attempt!).

Nico

Hi guys,
in case you didn't notice, ClamAV 0.96.3 is available at
http://hideout.ath.cx/clamav. This is a recommended update because of a fixed security vulnerability in the Bzip2 library.
Best regards,
Nico

What do you mean? ClamAV doesn't have (and never had) such service for the application. In case you're referring to FreshClam, it only updates the databases.

Yes
I installed the new version and the freshclam database updater is no longer in my services panel so I presume it was removed

No, it wasn't removed. How did you install the new version? Did you extract the 7z archive over the previous version or have you used the installer and if yes, did you uninstall the previous version before installing the new?

Nico

Hope it helps.

Thought I'd just throw in a quick update here, we've been on a new VPS with 768MB RAM for several months now & can easily run everything we need (including Nico's ClamAV). Memory usage on the VPS sits between 60 - 70% and never strays beyond that.
Just wondering (as has already been asked) if Nico is still around & if he's working on any updates since the latest 'standard' version is now at 0.97.3.
