Bypass redundant (nuisance) DNS blacklist lookups

Post by zom » 2011-05-27 10:53

I have noticed that hMailServer always interrogates all enabled blacklists regardless, even if the first or a subsequent lookup results in an aggregate score equal to or exceeding the threshold. In this case the remaining lookups are wasteful of both time and DNS resources. This hMailServer behaviour can result in very large numbers of completely unnecessary DNS lookups.

Is it possible to have hMailServer stop looking up blacklists (and SURBL servers) once the aggregate score meets or exceeds the threshold?

As blacklist DNS lookups for this purpose are made sequentially, this should be readily achievable programatically.
