And i just discovered something interesting. I looked in the backup folder and found backups for the 2 times that HMS failed to stop. I don't think you need the host file entry. Use localhost for sending mail from your app.

Do you want to receive mail or only send? If you want to receive mail you need a valid MX record that points to your wan IP. It looks like you don't have one because of the resolving error.

I'm not sure I understand. The log files are always local to the server, so what difference would it make?

Or you're looking at it from the perspective of the admin being in a separate time zone from the server?

Since adding a couple scripts that fill up my events log, I decided to cycle it daily. I run this daily at 11:59:50 pm from task scheduler. It's important to run it before midnight so it gets named as the current day (the same day the events in the log took place). If there are no events for the day...
