To check all IMAP folders in TB, add:

...to user.js -- more info here. As far as a "constant IMAP connection" is concerned, most IMAP clients will allow you to poll folders for new messages as frequently as every minute.

I would speculate that something other than ASSP is listening in on port 25 (or maybe you have ASSP pointed to something other than hMS), for once you telnet to it, hMS' banner should be displayed.

Just an idea: Install cygwin and use rm -rf from the shell -- not sure if it would actually be any faster than rmdir /s /q from the command line, but it might be worth a shot.

Another idea: use Microsoft's Shared Computer Toolkit and store your data directory on a partition that's frozen.

It fully depends on how your Courier Mail Server is configured -- if it's set up with a MySQL user database, as many seem to be, transferring your users from Courier to hMS could be as easy as execting a well-written SQL query.

Have you installed cygwin? Do you have a my.cnf lingering around somewhere? Have you checked your %PATH% environment variable? It would be helpful if you were more elaboratre with your problem. It now seems that you're having an issue with something other than hMS or its integrated MySQL server.

Here's what I'd do:
  • 1) Restore from a known-to-be-good and preferably recent backup.
    2) Reinstall the exact same version of hMS on top of itself.
If this doesn't work, you'll probably need to completely nuke your hMS install and start over from scratch.

Voted NO because I think it would be a bad idea to exempt messages that are larger than x bytes. However, it would be nice if hMS could somehow use the same methodology as ASSP and only scan the first x bytes of the attachment(s) since "most virus signatures match in the first 20-100K of the message."
