Re: Message Indexing Fails

Builds OK that's a start. :) I posted up an experimental build for people to test out & give feedback: http://www.hmailserver.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=21420 Obviously gave you credit greylock :) I didn't spend much time looking at the code changes but seemed reasonable at quick glance. No con...

Re: Message Indexing Fails

Patch files in ZIP

I did not rewrite server string handling.
I only fixed the message indexer issue to use UTF-8.

Message Indexing Fails

hmailserver is 5.4 Build 1950 There are two bugs in this report. Both are related to the translation of the offending subject line. Both the logger and the Message Indexing mySQL write fail on the translated data. 1. The logger fails to emit the subject data in the log line and fails to terminate th...

Re: LATEST EXPERIMENTAL BUILD - 5.4-B2013052301

Bill, Running 5.4-B2013041501. I do not know if this is a base code issue or an experimental build issue. I have SMTP running on ports 25, 587, and 465. The log file reflects only port 25 interactions. There are no port 587 or 465 interaction lines. In my case, port 25 is not accessible from the int...

Route Domain Aliases, RouteAddresses.ItemByName

I make extensive use of Routes. When, for example, a domain has 5 aliases and say 50 email addresses, setting a route for that domain requires setting up 6 route domains and 300 route addresses. Or, for example, adding an address to a route with 5 alias domans requires adding 6 route addresses. Whil...

SMTP Suddenly stops responding - 5.3-B1617

Hi, Knowing that the issue did not exist in 5.0-B323, and in an effort to help track down the issue I reported earlier, I uninstalled 5.3.3-B1879 and installed 5.3-B1617. I can report that version has the same issue. I will uninstall 5.3-B1617 and install an earlier version. See log excerpt. "DEBUG"...

Re: send receive suddenly stops

Hi, I am seeing SMTP going non-responsive on three different servers. These servers are Windows 2000 Server running under Vmware. Each is running on separate physical hosts. All three machines were previously running 5.0-B323. All three machines running SMTP only (POP3 and IMAP unchecked and no port...

Re: Long header from 5.3.1-B1712

Martin, I have a related issue to report. I am working on a webmail package. The webmail adds a Received header that identifies the HTTP client that the email account used to create the message. That received header is folded at 78 characters. When transmitting via other SMTP servers, they leave tha...

Re: Long header from 5.3.1-B1712

Martin, The line length exceeds the "suggested" maximum length of 78 characters. Because the received headers exceed the "suggested" length, messages from that server get spam points added by our spam scanners. I am concerned that other spam scanners may add points or even make an absolute decision ...

Re: hMailServer Email Account Signature

Martin,

Okay. Sorry for the inccorect post.

I am new to the forum, but would like to contribute in a positive manner. I would like to post a couple of "suggested" documentation changes, but do not see a forum for that. What is the proper method to request a documentation change?

Re: hMailServer Email Account Signature

Martin,

After checking "Add signatures to local email", the account signature was added to local email.

I thought, based on documentation, that checkbox applied to the domain level signature.

Re: hMailServer Email Account Signature

Martin,

At the domain level, there are no checkboxes checked and the signature text boxes are empty.

I have made no signature changes at the domain level since creating the domain.

hMailServer Email Account Signature

Hi,

After testing several messages to different destinations, it appears that hMailServer Email Account Signature is applied only to messages with a destination outside of the server. Based on my reading of the documentation, the signature should be applied to all messages.
