Re: What is happening here

I run pfSense as my firewall here and have pfblocker package installed. Im seeing tons of attempts at port 25 and 110 from blocked countries recently as well.

I think they're just getting ready for the holidays.

Your ISP can make the change for you. Then make your "Welcome Message" whatever you ask them to put as your rDNS.

For your first post- Is it possible that your ISP has now blocked port 25 outbound? Regarding the logs... Get used to that. If its there they will try. Thats why its important to have strong passwords and not use any standard dictionary words as a pass. I had those attacks last for more than a day b...

Use this tool...

http://www.mxtoolbox.com/spf.aspx

It assumes you already have it in place...

You could tighten it up a little but that should work...

Mine- v=spf1 mx ptr ip4:"my public mail ip" mx:"mail.my rdns" -all

There should be a spf record for each domain. Your DNS service should be able to help you here.

Programs like Mailwasher can be setup to do what your looking for.

Mailwasher has a free version that will work for one address.

How sure are you that your returns will even reach the spammers? Many use stolen or non existent return addresses.
