Re: Time-Out When Stopping HMS Service

I'm pretty sure the issue here is clients that use IMAP IDLE. For example the K9 email client on Android phones and tablets uses the IMAP IDLE command to establish a connection that allows the email server to "push" notifications of new messages to the client. These IMAP connections in effect stay o...

Re: VBScript Error When Reading Message.ID

Well, I've done further testing and it looks like this is another Windows 2000 Server problem :( . Even after updating to Windows Script Host 5.7 (the latest version you can get for Win2K) it still won't play nice. I tested a fresh HMS 5.4-B1944 install on Windows XP 32 bit with Windows Script Host ...

Re: VBScript Error When Reading Message.ID

I use a modified script to purge old emails & it works fine using .ID so wonder what's different I thought this must be working for other people! Bill, what OS are you running HMS on? Also, if you run the following command at a command prompt what version does it report for Windows Scripting Host? ...

Re: VBScript Error When Reading Message.ID

I gave a quick try with JScript and got a similar result. Reading Message.UID works OK, but Message.ID throws: Microsoft JScript runtime error: Variable uses an Automation type not supported in JScript . The main issue for me is that I have a script that deletes emails using oMessages.DeleteByDBID(o...

Re: Time-Out When Stopping HMS Service

Attempting to use the "Pause" button in the hMailServer Administrator just hangs the Administrator (I waited for over 6 minutes before I finally just killed it). During this time no new SMTP connections could be made, but an existing IMAP connection still appeared to work. I haven't tried to pause i...

Re: VBScript Error When Reading Message.ID

I'm not totally sure here (I don't have the source code available just now), but I think m_pObject->GetID() as well as m_pObject->GetUID() both return type __int64 . I think this is why the type cast to long is used in the line: *pVal = (long) m_pObject->GetUID(); (this type cast works but any value...

VBScript Error When Reading Message.ID

I'm currently running version 5.4-B2012093001. When using VBScript to read Message.ID I get the following error: --------------------------- Windows Script Host --------------------------- Script: E:\Scripts\hMailServer_Test_02.vbs Line: 20 Char: 1 Error: Variable uses an Automation type not support...

Re: Time-Out When Stopping HMS Service

I Finally got a chance to test this with version 5.4 - 1944 and the issue exists in that version as well. It was suggested that I should wait until there are no connections before stopping the HMS service. Maybe I'm misunderstanding what was meant, but if I watch the number of IMAP connections using...

Re: Build- 5.4-B2012093001 Times-Out When Stopping HMS Servi

I Finally got a chance to test this with version 5.4 - 1944 and your right that the issue is not specific to Build- 5.4-B2012093001. I have started a new topic for this issue: http://www.hmailserver.com/forum/viewto ... 10&t=23679

Time-Out When Stopping HMS Service

Bill suggested I start a new topic for this issue (probably a good idea). I'm running version 5.4-B2012093001 on a clean and fully updated install of Windows 2000 Server - Service Pack 4. Yes, it's a 12 year-old OS, but with it sitting behind a firewall and just hMailServer running on it it's actual...

Build- 5.4-B2012093001 Times-Out When Stopping HMS Service

I'm running version 5.4-B2012093001 on a clean and fully updated install of Windows 2000 Server - Service Pack 4. Yes, it's a 12 year-old OS, but with it sitting behind a firewall and just hMailServer running on it it's actually very stable (and I didn't feel like forking over for a new server OS wh...

Re: Small issue with IMAP fetch response 5.4 B1942

I've been using version 5.4-B2012093001 for a few days now and the issue with Firefox and quotes around '7bit' appears to be resolved.

Thanks again Bill!

Re: Small issue with IMAP fetch response 5.4 B1942

OK, thanks Bill. I'm looking at this topic: http://www.hmailserver.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=21420 which I understand is your experimental builds. The only one I see that is June or newer appears to be dated 30 Sep 2012. Is this correct, or have I missed some other builds? I have downloaded thi...

Re: Official and self-signed Certificate manual for hmail [S

I used the instructions at the start of this post to get a chained SSL certificate purchased from Comodo working with hMailServer 5.4-B1944. Thanks for the walk-through! I did however have to make one change. The instructions above say to create a .crt file that contains the Intermediate Certificate...

Re: Small issue with IMAP fetch response 5.4 B1942

OK, after much troubleshooting and IMAP log viewing I finally found this same issue with the missing quotes around the 7bit response. I really couldn't find this thread until I had a suspicion about the missing quotes and Thunderbird, but I'm here now (whew!). We use Thunderbird as our primary email...

Re: Trying to Restore hMailServer from File Backup

Yes, the 'hm_accounts.MYI' file was corrupted beyond repair. Fortunately this table generally doesn't change much. It does change when new accounts are added, and it stores the last login time for each account (not extremely important data to preserve). I used a copy of the file from a previous back...

Re: Trying to Restore hMailServer from File Backup

OK I had a look at the log files and I am getting a bunch of errors such as this: "ERROR" 2656 "2009-05-22 19:54:18.138" "MySQL: Can't open file: 'hm_accounts.MYI' (errno: 126) (Additional info: "select * from hm_accounts where accountid = 1")" The file 'hm_accounts.MYI' is present in the "C:\Progra...

Re: Trying to Restore hMailServer from File Backup

Thanks for the quick responses. Are the folders (for domains) and sub folders (for accounts) all listed in the c:\program files\hMailserver\data directory?? I believe so. Is there a way to check for sure? Have you used the built in database again? Yes. Installed hMailServer using the built in databa...

Trying to Restore hMailServer from File Backup

The hard drive of our server crashed and I'm trying to get our hMailServer configuration running on a new machine. I have a file backup of the entire "C:\Program Files\hMailServer" directory. I have looked at the executable files that were backed up and I believe that version 4.4.1-B273 was installe...
